국문 초록

本研究は、仏典を出処とする｢鹿女夫人｣説話が、民間伝承においていかに展開され変容したかについて考察したものである。｢鹿女夫人｣の説話の構成は、仙人と鹿の間で生まれた女が王后となる｢鹿娘説話｣と、異常誕生で捨てられた息子たちと母親が戦場で再会する｢母子再会説話｣に分けることができる。特に｢鹿娘説話｣には、妃となる鹿娘の前世譚が含まれ(鹿因縁譚)、布施の功徳と母をののしった果報と輪廻の主題が主な軸となる。仏典や仏教説話集での｢鹿女夫人｣説話は、｢鹿娘説話｣と｢母子再会説話｣が続いている｢結合型｣、そして｢母子再会説話｣のみが独立した二つの類型をもって伝わってきた。しかし、民間伝承においては ｢鹿娘説話｣が主となり、光明皇后、大宮姫、浄瑠璃御前、和泉式部の伝承として伝わっている。そして、光明皇后と大宮姫では、鹿から生まれた娘が王后になるという共通点があり、浄瑠璃御前と和泉式部の場合、貴人との出会いはあるものの王后にはなれず、むしろ｢放浪する女人｣としての展開に共通点をみることができ、この｢王后｣と｢放浪｣の展開は、｢鹿因縁譚｣の主題である｢功徳｣と｢輪廻｣の痕跡が深く関わっていることを確認した。

영문 초록

In the present article, we explore the way in which the Buddhist script based tale “Noknyobuin” has been developed and transformed in folklore. In the literature concerning the Buddhist scripts, the Buddhist‐tales, and so on, two differing assumptions are identified. According to one common view, the story in “鹿女夫人” proceeds in the order of “鹿娘説話” and “母子再会説話”. According to another view, “母子再会説話” stands alone, Our research, however, shows that in the folktale, “鹿娘説話” handed down as the story of women who are reborn as the daughters of deer. This story was transmitted through Koumyou Kougou, Oomiya Hime, Joururi Gozen, and Izumi Shikibu. In the cases of Koumyou Kougou and Oomiya Hime, the daughter of a deer “becomes the wife of an emperor.” In the cases of Joururi Gozen and Izumi Shikibu, although the ladies meet noble persons, they cannot be the wife of an emperor but they are rather described as “wandering women.” We argue that this very difference between “wife of an emperor”and “wandering woman” are closely related to the traces of “virtuous deed” and “transmigration,” which are the deleted theme of “鹿因縁譚.”
