우사하치만궁 제신에 관한 고찰

국문 초록

本論文は、大分県宇佐市に位置する宇佐八幡宮の祭神に関する考察である。『延喜式』｢神名帳｣(927年)によれば｢八幡大菩薩․比咩大神․大帯比賣神｣3座である。比咩大神はタマヨリヒメの如く普通名詞であるだけ、その実体は不明なまま残されている。八幡神が應神霊とみなされたのは後世のことであり、神功皇后は母子神信仰により、弘仁14年(823)大帯姫を香椎宮から遷座して合祀し、今日に至っている。宇佐地方の神奈備山であった御許山頂にある三巨石は、土着豪族である宇佐氏の土地神または祖神として崇められてきた歴史を持っている。このような宇佐土着の磐座信仰を土臺にして、秦氏系といわれる辛嶋勝氏の｢ヒメ神｣信仰を重疊し、合体したのが、宇佐八幡宮の第二御殿｢比咩大神｣であったと考えられている。豊前国辛嶋郷を本拠地とした渡來氏族である辛嶋勝氏は、平安時代まで｢禰宜｣または｢祝｣として務めた宇佐八幡宮の祭祀氏族であった。このような比咩神の原流は、香春神社の採銅所でまつられていた新羅國の渡來神｢豊比咩｣ではないかと思われる。

영문 초록

The present article provides the analysis of the gods enshrined in UsaHachimangu. According to the Engishiki, the gods worshiped in the shrine are “八幡大菩薩,” “比咩大神,” and “大帯比賣神.” “比咩大神” is treated as a common noun as in the case of “玉依姬”, and its actual properties remain unclear. It is at a later period of time that “八幡神” is considered as “應神霊,” and the worship of Mother Child Deity made the empress of “神功” transfer “大帯姫” from the shrine of Kashiigu. Three large stones located at the peak of the mountain of 御許 in the Usa‐district was worshipped as the local god or the ancestor god of Usa, a native clan of the area. It has been assumed that it is “比咩大神” in UsaHachimangu that combined the Iwakura worship (by the Usa clan) with the Himegami worship (by Karashima‐no‐suguri of the Hata clan). Karashima no suguri, a tribe based on 辛嶋郷, was a religious clan that served as “禰宜” or “祝” until the era of Heian. We speculate that the origin of “比咩神” is the god from the country of Silla, “豊比咩.”
