유아과학교육 대학교재 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아과학교육 교재들을 분석하여 교재들의 기초정보를 얻고자 하였다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 2015년 9월부터 2013년 이후 출판된 11권의 대학교재를 선정 및 수집하였다. 수집된 교재들을 대상으로 이론과 실제의 구성의 파악하고, 과학내용의 주제를 탐색하고, 실제편에 수록된 활동들을 하위교과에 맞게 분류 해보았다. 연구결과, 각 수집된 과학교재들의 이론과 실제의 구성 비율은 차이가 있었다. 과학을 실제로 다룬 내용을 분석한 결과, 다양한 과학주제들이 포함되어 있었다. 또한 교재별로 다양한 과학활동을 포함하고 있었으나 하위교과(물리, 화학, 생물,지구과학)의 분포는 고르지 않았다. 유아를 위한 지식이나 활동은 다양한 반면, 교사혹은 성인 수준의 과학 지식은 포함되어 있지 않았다. 교과내용지식의 습득은 교사의 자신감 및 교사효능감에 영향을 줄 수 있으므로 성인 수준의 과학기초지식을 포함한 유아과학교육 교재가 필요함을 의미한다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 예비유아교사를 위한 유아과학교육 교재의 방향을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore what kind of knowledge pre-service early childhood teachers learn in science education by analyzing the science textbooks currently published and used in educational institutions. To achieve the goal of this study, the themes, subjects and practical activities in 11 science education textbooks were analyzed. As a result, the science themes and subjects in those books are various. Then, the themes, subjects and practical activities were categorized into 4 sub-science subject including physics, chemistry, biology, and earth science. As a result, the contents related to physics were 21%, the consents related to chemistry were 21%, the contents related to biology were 33%, and the consents related to earth science were 25%. In terms of the activities, biology were most often included. Even though the subject of activities included in the analyzed books were various, those were intented for children. In the analyzed textbooks, there were no teacher-level science knowledge. The findings of this study suggests that it is necessary that a new science textbook for pre-service early childhood teachers consider to include teacher-level knowledge.
