This paper explores the translation strategy of humor and CSI for two groups of children: upper graders (from 12 to 15) and lower graders (from 8 to 11) based on their developmental differnces in linguistic and cognitive competence. Eight humorous children’s books and their Koran translations were selected as data. And ABBY Fine Reader 2.0, UAM Corpus Tool, and R-Commander program were used for corpus tagging and annotation and statistic computing. The results showed that, out of the eight humor types, six of them, had significant correlations with translation strategies. And ST transfer and TT replacement strategies were proven to be statistically significant in humor translation of both lower and upper graders. Out of the five CSI items, school and play and proper noun were proven to be statistically significant in the use of translation strategies. According to grade levels, translation strategies were differently used to help target readers read texts more easily while having fun in reading at the same time.
