추사 김정희의 『국조화징록 』 수용에 대하여

국문 초록

朝･淸 문인들의 교유가 확대 및 심화되는 19세기에 있어 그림은 새로운 의미를 부여받는다. 교유의 수단이 ‘詩書’에서 ‘詩書畵’로 확대되기 때문이다. 이에 따라 그림과 관련된 서적들에 대한 관심이 증폭되었고, 이는 관련서적의 수입으로 이어졌다. 그 중심에는 秋史 金正喜(1786~1856)가 있다. 김정희는 명청대에 간행된 여러 畵論書들을 수입하여 연구하였다. 그 중에서도 張庚의 국조화징록 은 김정희 화론 형성에 가장 큰 영향을 주었다. 국조화징록 은 정조 연간에 수입되어 북학파 지식인을 중심으로 널리 읽혔는데, 그들은 이 책을 통해 청나라 화가 및 畵論에 관한 정보를 얻었다. 그러나 국조화징록 을 본격적으로 수용한 것은 김정희를 통해서였다. 19세기 초에 조선으로 수입된 국조화징록 판본은 그 전본이 별로 없는데, 다행히도 김정희 관련 판본은 2종이나 남아 있다. 특히 그중에는 圖畵精意識 가 포함된 아주 희귀한 판본도 있다. 김정희는 이 책들을 통해 원말의 四家에서부터 명나라 동기창을 거쳐 청나라 太倉派에 이르는 자신의 산수 화 문경론을 확립하였다. 또한 用墨法과 用筆法은 물론 書卷氣에 관한 이론도 이 책들을 통해 수용하였다. 그림의 감상과 감정에 이르기까지도 이책의 도움을 받았다. 김정희 화론의 중요한 부분들이 이 책을 통해 형성되었던 것이다. 그럼에도 김정희는 장경의 화론을 그대로 수용한 것은 아니었다. 장경이 墨法에서 乾濕의 호용을 주장한데 반해, 끝까지 乾筆을 고집하 였다.

영문 초록

The friendship between Joseon and Qing literati was Intensified and expanded in 19th century, in which the painting was given a whole new meaning. Because the way of making friendship was expanded from the poetry, epistolary correspondence to the painting. Accordingly the interest on the painting and the books on the painting was increased, and that draw the import of related books. Kim Jeonghui was on the center of the mainstream. He imported many Ming-Qing painting theory books and researched the painting theory. Jang Gyeong’s Gugjohuajinglog was the most influenced book to his building up the painting theory. That book was imported in King Jeongjo’s reign and widely read in the Bughag(北學) literati. They got the imformation of Qing’s painter and painting theory through this book. But the genuine acceptance of Gugjohuajinglog was started through Kim Jeonghui. In early 19th century, there are almost no version of the book which was imported in Joseon, but two version related to Kim were remained. Especially one version was contained very rare Dohuajeonguiji. Kim established the way to landscape painting theory which started from the late Yuan Four Masters, Ming’s Dong Gi Chang(董其昌), to Qing’s Taechang(太倉) group. Also, he accepted the way of using carbon ink stick, brush, and book spirit theory. Appreciation and valuation of painting was influenced by this book. The important painting theory of Kim was built through this book. Nevertheless, Kim did not received Jang Gyeong’s painting theory exactly same way. For example, Jang insisted on using both dry and wet in the way of using carbon ink stick, but Kim fnsisted on using dry brush throughly.
