유아 소프트웨어 교육에 대한 유아교사의 인식과 요구

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아 소프트웨어 교육의 기틀을 마련하기 위한 첫 걸음으로 유아 교사의 유아 소프트웨어 교육에 대한 인식과 요구를 알아보는데 목적을 두었다. 연구 목적의 달성을 위하여 부산시, 울산시에 소재한 사립 유치원 28곳에 근무하고 있는 유아 교사 220명을 대상으로 2016년 7월 1주부터 2016년 7월 2주까지 약 2주에 걸쳐 유아 소프트웨어에 대한 교육 인식, 유아 소프트웨어에 대한 교육 요구에 대한 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과에서 먼저, 교육 인식과 관련하여 유아 교사들은 유아 소프트웨어 교육에 대해 들어 본 경우 높고, 교육의 필요성도 긍정적인 성향이 높게 나타났다. 유아 소프트웨어 교육이 필요한 이유는 ‘미래 사회에 필요한 기초 역량‘이 라는 의견이 가장 높았고 관련 교육이 필요 없다고 생각하는 이유는 ’유아들에게 어려울 것으로 걱정되었기 때문‘이 가장 높았다. 다음으로 소프트웨어 교육 요구에서 유아 소프트웨어 교육과 누리과정과의 연계 가능성에 대해 ’보통‘이 가장 높았으며, 누리과정 영역 중 ‘자연탐구’ 영역과 생활주제 중 ‘생활도구’가 연계 가능성이 높다고 인식하였다. 끝으로 유아 소프트웨어 교육 목표는 ‘컴퓨팅 사고력 바탕의 효율적이고 효과적인 문제해결역량 함양’ 교육과정은 ‘생활 속 정보와 문제해결 방법’ 및 ‘올 바른 정보 생활(정보윤리)’, 교육방법은 ’놀이 중심의 활동‘, 교육평가는 ’협동력 및의사소통능력 평가‘, 적용 시기는 ’5세‘, 적용 시간은 평균 17시간 정도로 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구 결과는 향후 유아 소프트웨어 관련 교육을 위한 실제적이고 다양한 단서들을 현장에 제공해 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of early childhood teachers on early childhood software education and their needs for that in an effort to lay the foundation for early childhood software education. The findings of the study were as follows: As for awareness of software education, the early childhood teachers who had heard about early childhood software education(36.8%) outnumbered the others who hadn t(30.5%), and many took a positive view of the necessity of that education(48.8%). Regarding the reason for the necessity of early childhood software education, they responded that this education was required to foster a basic competency necessary for future society (48.6%), and the teachers who didn t consider that education necessary answered they feared it might be elusive for preschoolers(59.4%). They thought that the articulation between early childhood software education and the Nuri curriculum would neither be absolutely impossible nor absolutely possible(51.4%). And they thought the education would be more likely to be incorporated in the area of natural inquiry(49.5%) among the areas of the Nuri curriculum, and to be conducted under the theme of life tools(72.7%) among the themes of it. Finally, their opinions on early childhood software education were analyzed in terms of object, content, method and evaluation that were the curriculum development criteria. As a result, the object of that education should be to foster an efficient and successful problem-solving competency based on computational thinking faculty(29.1%). That education should be provided when living information and problem- solving methods(34.1%) and information ethics(34.1%) are covered. In terms of educational method, play-centered activities were regarded as the best educational method(69.4%). As to evaluation, cooperative skills and communicative competency should be evaluated(30.9%). Concerning the right time for this education, age 5 was looked upon as the best age (83.2%). In regard to the number of hours for this education, a mean of 17 hours was considered advisable.
