국문 초록

이 논문은 1960년대 ‘동래 금강공원’을 재현하고 있는 소설 텍스트를 분석함으로써, 지역 장소성의 변모 양상과 그 사회문화적 함의를 고찰하는 글이다. 향파 이주홍과 요산 김정한은 같은 시기에 ‘동래 금강공원’을 소재로 한 작품을 발표하였다. 전자의 「동래금강원」(『신동아』, 1969.2)과 후자의 「굴살이」(『현대문학』, 1969.9)가 그것이다. 근대 국민국가의 물적 기반을 확보하기 위해 ‘산업화’와 ‘도시화’에 박차를 가하고 있던 1960년대 후반에 부산지역을 대표하는 두 작가가 동일한 배경의 작품을 발표하고 있다는 사실은 쉽게 보아 넘길 문제가 아니다. 이 논문에서는 이러한 문제 인식을 바탕으로, 부산지역에 위치해 있는 동래 금강공원의 역사적 내력과 장소성의 변화 양상을 향파의 「동래금강원」과 요산의 「굴살이」를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 1960년대 부산 ‘동래 금강공원’의 공간적 표상 변화는 산업화와 도시화가 급격하게 진행되고 있던 한국 사회의 내재적 모순과 부조리를 보여주는 사회문화적 징후이다. 먼저, 향파는 「동래금강원」을 통해 1960년대 이후 크게 변모한 금강공원의 장소성을 파탄난 사랑/예술의 공간으로 그려내고 있다. 순수하고 오염되지 않은 장소로서의 ‘금강공원’과 욕망과 쾌락으로 점철된 ‘온천장’을 분별하면서, 사랑과 예술(문학)이 이루어질 수 없는 타락한 공간으로 온천장을 형상화했다. 이는 1960년대부터 본격화된 도시 개발/오염이 순수하고 정갈한 인간 생의 의지(사랑/문학)를 좌초시키는 사회적 병폐임을 감지하는 것이다. 다음으로, 요산 김정한은 「굴살이」를 통해 1960년대의 도시 개발과정에서 떠밀려나거나 추방된 존재를 예민하게 감각하고 있다. 관찰자 ‘나’를 통해 재구성되는 ‘굴댁’의 처참한 사연이란, 우리 사회 속에서 자기 자신의 자리를 부여받지 못한 이들의 삶이 얼마나 쉽게 부서지고 찢어질 수 있는지를 잘 보여주는 사회문화적 증례와 다르지 않다. 특히, ‘밤순’이가 ‘굴댁’으로 몰락하는 과정에는 1960년대의 도시 팽창과 자본/투기의 문제점이 반영되어 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to examine the implications of Social culture and the transformational Patterns of Local Places. By analyzing how to represent ‘Dongnae Geumgangpark’ in 1960 s novel. Lee juhong wrote a novel 「Dongnae Geumgangpark」(1969.2) and Kim Junghan wrote a novel 「life of cave」(1962.9). Two works material is same. it s ‘Dongnae Geumgangpark’ It s important that two writes who presenting Busan publish the works by using the same material ‘Dongnae Geumgangpark’ at the same time. By the end of the 1960s when industrialization and urbanization were underway in order to ensure the material base of the modern nation-state. This paper studys the historical contents and the changing mode of the placeness of ‘Dongnae Geumgangpark’, focusing on Lee juhong s 「Dongnae Geumgangpark」(1969.2) and Kim Junghan s 「life of cave」(1962.9). 1960 s space tranformation of tne Geumgangpark is social and cultural symptom to showing Contradiction and absurdity in Korean society. First, Lee juhong considerd placeness of Geumgangpark where greatly changed after 1960 s as a breaking sign of pure thing(love and art) He separated the park, as a pure uncontanminated place and Dongnae hot Springs filled with desire and pleasure. In addition Dongnae hot Springs was described a place of depravity where love and literature can not be achieved. Eventually, Lee juhong wanted say, pure and innocent life can’t be achieved in polluted space. In other words he predicted the evil of urbanization that will be frustratd the will of the pure and neat human life. Next, Yosan is keenly aware of the existence of being thrown out or deported from the urban development process of the 1960s through 「life of cave」. The observer ‘I’ reconstructs ‘Guldaek s’ horrific story. This shows how easily can be broken the lives of those who have not received their status in our society. In particular, the process of ‘Bamsun’ becoming ‘Guldaek’ reflected the problems of urban expansion and capital / speculation in the 1960s. This shows the realistic creative attitude unique to Yosan. In this way, 「life of cave」contains a common question about how our society will live with the persons who has not settled down.
