「文章指南跋」의 작자와 주제의식

국문 초록

이 글은 「文章指南跋」의 작자와 작품의 내용, 주제의식을 밝히는 데 목적을 두어 작성 된 것이다. 「문장지남발」은 柳夢寅의 문집 『於于集』 권6과 金宇顒의 문집 『東岡集』 권16에 각각 실려 있다. 두 글을 대조해 보면 글자의 차이가 다소 있으나 내용이 통하거나 특별히 없어도 되는 정도이다. 그러나 세 부분, 즉 ‘星雨’, ‘胡廣失其姓’, ‘漢儒述禮記’ 등을 봤을 때 유몽인의 글이다. 또 ‘適因流徙西湖, 與崔上舍有淵爲隣竝.’라고 했으니 『문장지남』의 편찬자가 崔有淵임을 알 수 있다. 그의 생년은 1587년으로 밝혀져 있고, 유몽인이 1608년에 西湖로 퇴거했으며 당시 옆집에 살던 최유연에게 이책을 받아 봤기 때문에 1603년에 생을 마친 김우옹과는 무관함을 알 수 있다. 어떻게 해서 김우옹의 문집에 유입되어 전해지고 있는지 알 수는 없지만 「문장지남발」은 유몽인의 글이다. 「문장지남발」은 유몽인의 사상과 주제의식이 또렷하게 담겨있는 글이다. 그는 노자와 불가의 허무함을 지적하는가 하면 장자의 허탄함 또한 약점으로 지적하고 있다. 사상뿐 아니라 문장에 있어서도 사마상여를 비롯하여 사마천, 한유, 소동파에 이르기까지 당대내로라하는 명문장가임에도 묘처를 깨닫지 못한 폐단을 지니고 있음을 언급하였다. 결국 「문장지남발」은 孔孟의 유가사상을 천발함과 동시에 박학보다는 一家만을 전공하여 오묘한 곳을 터득하거나, 다른 서적의 중요한 글만을 선하여 봐야 한다는 문학론이 담겨 있는 글이다. 이러한 문학론과 선집 경향은 그의 選集『大家文會』에서도 또렷하게 드러나 있다.

영문 초록

This article is written with the aim of revealing the author of the Munjangjinam(文章指南), the content of the work, and the subject consciousness. Munjangjinambal is a collection of Yumongin s poetry and a collection of Kim Wooong s poems. In contrast, there are some differences in the characters, but the content is either inbuilt or specifically absent. But the three parts, ‘Starry(星雨)’, ‘Hokwang losed Family name(胡廣失其姓)’, ‘Chinese Confucians are anticipating(漢儒述禮記)’, etc are the writings of the Yumongin. And when he went to exile in the West Lake, he became a neighbor and Choi was able to understand the repetition of the sentence. His birth year is known as 1587, and the Yumongin moved to the West Lake in 1608. Since then, he received this book from Choi yuyeon who lived next door. It is not possible to know how it is transmitted to Kim Woong s collection of literary works, Munjangjinambal sentence is the article of the Yumongin. Munjangjinambal is a well-known text of Yumongin s thought and subject consciousness. He points out the vanity of the Noza(老子) and Buddhism(佛家) and the weakness of the Jamgja(莊子) is also pointed out as weakness. He mentioned that not only the ideology but also the sentence, including the Samarcheon(司馬遷), Hanyu(韓愈), Sodongpa (蘇東坡). In the end, Munjangjinambal is an article containing the literary theory that the Confucian and Mencius ideology should start at the same time as learning Confucianism and Mencius, and at the same time, learn more than just knowing one expert and mastering a subtle place. This literary theory and selective tendency is clearly shown in his 『Taegamoonhwoi(大家文會)』.
