데이터 분석 기법을 이용한 구비문학 자료의 이해

국문 초록

이 연구에서는 구비문학 현장 조사를 통해 축적된 데이터를 새롭게 해석, 활용하기 위해 사회연결망(SNA: Social Network Analysis)이론을 이용해 구비문학 자료를 분석해 보았다. 연구를 위한 분석 도구로는 사이람(Cyram)사의 연결망 데이터 분석 프로그램인 ‘넷마이너(Netminer)’ 4.22버전을 사용했다. 대상으로 삼은 자료는 ‘한국구비문학대계 개정증보사업’의 조사 결과 중 경남지역 민요 자료이다. 분석 결과 주목된 것은 먼저 ‘모심기 노래’와 같은 특정 개체(node)에 지나치게 집중되어 있는 링크(link)였다. 이는 지역의 민요 전승이 획일화되고, 전승 기반 자체가 쉽게 흔들릴 수 있다는 문제점을 드러낸다. 두 번째로는 조사 현장의 적정 청중 수 문제이다. 일반적으로 구연현장에서는 적정한 청중 인원을 4-5명 정도로 본다. 그러나 실제 분석 결과 9～15명 내외가 성공적인 민요 조사를 이끌어낼 수 있는 결과 값으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 연결망 분석을 통해 제 3 의 능력을 지닌 제보자, 즉 ‘전달자’로 불리는 인물들을 발견할 수 있었다. 이들은 구연 능력과 별개로 지역에서 자료의 다양성을 확보하고, 연결망을 유지하는 데 중요한 역할을 수행함으로써 향후 조사 현장에서 주목해야할 새로운 제보자 유형이라 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Recently, with the emergence of big data, the efficient use of the data has been emphasized, and various tools of analysis have appeared, but in the field of oral literature, our recognition or response is still in an infancy stage. This study analyzed oral literature research materials using the Social Network Analysis (SNA) theory in order to seek a method of analyzing and utilizing oral literature data. In order to increase the efficiency of the analysis, this study used ‘Cyram’ Company’s connection network data analysis program ‘Netminer Ver. 4.22’ as analytic software. The subject material is the folk song materials in the ‘Gyeongnam’ province of the research results of ‘the revised and enlarged editions project of an ’. As a result of the analysis, attention was paid first to the link excessively concentrated on the certain node like ‘Rice Planting Song.’ This structure reveals the problems that the local transmission of folk songs becomes monotonous and the foundation of transmission easily wavers. Second, there is the problem of the proper number of audience in the research field. Generally, in the field of folk song, 4 to 5 persons are the proper number of audience. Yet, as a result of an actual analysis, it turned out that the result value that can draw successful research on folk song is 9 to 15 persons. Lastly, through a connection network analysis, informants with a third ability, in other words, figures called ‘distant messengers’ could be found. They are a new type of informant to which the research field should pay attention in the future since they play an important role in securing the diversity of materials and maintaining the connection network in the region, separately from the Oral Performance ability.
