노부모의 자산이 자녀와의 관계만족에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 노인의 자산이 자녀와의 관계만족도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 분석하고 있다. 또한 노인의 자산과 자녀와의 관계만족도와의 관계에서 자녀와의 만남 및 연락빈도 그리고 금전적 지원이 매개효과를 가지는 지를 분석하고 있다. 본 논문의 연구주제를 분석하기 위해 사회교환이론과 전략적 유산상속동기가설을 근거로 연구가설을 검증하였다. 분석 자료로 제 4차 고령화연구 패널조사를 사용하여, 연구목적에 맞는 1,754 케이스를 분석에 활용하였다. 주요 분석결과로 첫째, 노부모의 자산이 높을수록 자녀와의 관계만족도는 높아질 것이라는 가설을 지지하였다. 둘째, 노인의 자산은 자녀와의 만남빈도, 연락빈도, 금전적 지원에 정적 영향을 미친다는 가설이 지지되었다. 셋째, 자녀와의 만남빈도는 분거노인이 느끼는 자녀와의 관계만족도에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 못하였으나, 연락빈도 및 금전적 지원은 통계적으로 유의미한 수준에서 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 자녀와의 연락빈도 및 금전적 지원은 노인의 자산과 자녀와의 관계만족 사이에서 매개효과가 나타난다. 이에 본 연구는 노인의 자산축적을 위한 정책적 노력과 노후대비를 위한 자산관리, 노부모-자녀 간의 접촉빈도를 높이기 위한 노력이 필요함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed how assets of the elderly affect relationship satisfaction with their children. It is, also, analyzed if face-to-face meeting and contact frequence and financial supports exist as mediating effects between the assets and relationship satisfaction. In order to analyze these study questions, study hypotheses which deducted from social exchange theory and the strategic bequest motive hypotheses were examined. From the 4th KloSa data, 1,754 cases which were suitable with the study purpose were used. The results are as follows. First, the hypothesis “the more assets the elderly have, the more relationship satisfaction degree is” was statistically supported. Second, the hypothesis “the assets of the elderly positively affect face-to-face meeting and contact frequence and financial supports” was statistically supported. Third, contact frequence and financial supports positively affected relationship satisfaction although face-to-face meeting frequence didn t. Lastly, contact frequence with their children and financial supports had mediating effects between the assets of the elderly and relationship satisfaction with their children. Therefore, this study suggests political effort to build and accumulate elderly assets, and asset management to prepare for people’s old ages. Effort for the elderly as well as their children to raise contact frequency is also suggested.
