수학과 교수적 내용지식에 대한 초등특수교사의 인식

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등특수교사 155명을 대상으로 교사의 경력과 직전 및 현직교육 경험에 따른 수학과 교수적 내용지식에 대한 인식을 조사하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교사의 경력과 직전 및 현직교육 경험이 교사의 수학과 교수적 내용지식에 일부이나마 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 교사들은 전반적으로 수학과에 대해 보통 이상의 교수적 내용지식을 지니고 있었으며, 경력이 많아질수록 수학과 교수적 내용지식에 대한 인식도 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 직전교육과 현직교육 모두를 받은 교사들의 수학과 교수적 내용지식에 대한 인식이 직전교육만 받은 교사들 및 교육을 받은 경험이 없는 교사들에 비해 높았다. 그러나 교육을 받은 경험이 없는 교사들의 학생 이해와 교수방법 및 평가에 대한 인식은 직전교육만 받은 교사들 그리고 직전 및 현직교육 모두를 받은 교사들의 그것과 차이가 없었다. 이러한 결과는 수학과 교수적 내용지식이 경력에 영향을 더 많이 받고 있음을 시사한다. 향후 교사들이 수학수업에 대한 전문성을 갖추는 데 있어 경력에만 의존하지 않도록 적절한 체제가 만들어질 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

This study was to explore the perception for their own math pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) of elementary special education teachers(n = 155), based on their career and experience of pre-service and in-service training. PCK is the knowledge for the class encompassing academic contents, learners, and teaching methodologies and evaluation. Briefly, math PCK refers teacher's professionalism for math class. The results as follows: First, though in part, teacher's career and experience of pre-service and in-service training influenced on the teacher's math PCK. Second, overall, PCK of the subjects were above average. Also, the more teacher's career piled up, the more the perception about math PCK was increased. Third, the perception of math PCK on the part of the teachers who received both pre-service and in-service training was higher than that of teachers who did not received any training at all and that of teachers who received pre-service training only. However, the perceptions of two sub-categories(understanding about students, educational methodologies and assessment) on the part of the teachers who did not received any training at all were not different from those of both teachers who received pre-service training only and teachers who received both pre-service and in-service training. These results suggested that career affected more on the math PCK. In the future, it will be necessary to build proper system for special education teachers not to depend only on career to possess expertises on math class.
