메타포 분석을 통한 예비 유아교사의 장애유아에 대한 인식 연구

국문 초록

이 연구는 앞으로 장애유아의 통합교육을 담당하게 될 예비 유아교사들이 장애유아를 어떻게 인식하고 있는가를 확인하고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 이 연구를 위해 4년제 J대학과 K대학에 재학 중인 유아교육학과 학생 가운데 교직과목인 특수교육학개론을 이수한 2, 3, 4학년 113명을 대상으로 메타포 작성과 그러한 메타포를 선정한 이유를 설명하는 형식으로 구성된 질문지를 제공하여 완성하게 하였다. 완성된 질문지의 내용은 질적 및 양적 연구방법으로 분석 및 해석되었다. 그 결과, 예비 유아교사들이 제시한 장에 유아에 대한 메타포는 메타포가 가지는 고유의 특성에 따라 '생물과 무생물, 정서, 추상, 환경'의 5가지 요소로 분류되었고, 교사의 입장에서 예비 유아교사들이 장애유아를 바라보는 인식의 특성은 '가능성을 소유한 존재, 도움이 필요한 존재, 순수하고 소중한 존재, 일반 유아와 동일한 존재, 다루기 조심스러운 존재, 다루기 까다로운 존재, 미지의 존재, 일반 유아와 다른 존재'의 8개의 주제로 범주화되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 하여 예비 유아교사가 통합교육을 수행하기 위해 대학에서 제공되어야 할 장애 이해교육과 특수교육 관련 교과목 이수에 대한 시사점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to find out pre-school teachers' perceptions about children with disability. To do this, the metaphor analysis as qualitative data collection tool was used. Metaphor analysis questionnaire consisted of demographic question and the following two sentences. "child with disability is like~(metaphor)." "because ~(rationale for why they selected those metaphor)". Collected data were analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. The participants were composed of 113 prospective pre-school teachers who were studying in two universities and have taken a course of an introduction to special education in their second, third, and fourth grade. They were asked to make out two blanks in order to comprehend their conceptions of children with disability. They made out 53 metaphors and ground. The researcher sorted these metaphors into five groups by their own characteristics: living thing, a lifeless thing, emotion, abstraction, environment. These metaphors were categorized into eight theme: The children with disability is a (1)child with development possibilities, (2)child with need of help, (3)child with nature of purity and nobility, (4)child who is all equal to child without disability, (5)child who is handled with great care (6)child indocile children, (7)an unknown child (8)child who differs from average child. These findings suggest that university should extend courses and programs related teaching about understanding children with disabilities for successful inclusion.
