영문 초록

This article considered understanding about the being and the existence of God in Christianity, who has been expressed in the Shusaku Endo [Silence]. And is the conflict of Endo between the Japanese and the Western interval, and the understanding of God as the product of the suffering mainly. As far Endo, God in Christianity, means the God who has the shoulder of the Christian who falls down and betrays, and is pouring from behind in the setting sun of the comfort of the betrayer in people of defeat as a smell of the sun full of love and forgiveness of God. It is understanding of God inviting misunderstanding judging from a theological viewpoint, but is God made the aboriginality that was able to modernize in climate called Japan of Japan. Christianity got into in nature of the locality taking in by all means should be renewal at a marsh called Japan. God in Christianity is the God recognition of the shady mother person who rolls, and holds a person from behind like motherly God unlike God appearing in Western Christianity to give relief warmly for Endo. It may be said that such recognition has effect of breeding of Endo. God forgiving the betrayal again and again and am tender God pouring for love daringly. The recognition of God as for Endo, which formed in many culture is recognition peculiar to Japan, and it may be said with the God recognition based on Catholicism in particular. 本論文は、遠藤周作『沈黙』に現れたキリスト教の神の実在と実存につい ての理解を考察したもので、主に遠藤の西洋と日本の狭間でのぶつかり合いと苦悩の産物としての神理解である。遠藤にとってキリスト教の神とは転がり者の肩を持つ愛と赦し溢れる神で、日向の匂いとして負け者で、裏切り者の後ろから慰めの夕日を降り注いでくださる神である。神学的な立場からみると誤解を招きつつある神の理解であるが、日本という風土の中で新しくできた日本の土着化された神である。どうしても吸収してしまう土地柄に入り込まれたキリスト教は日本という沼で、新しく生まれ変わらねばならなのである。遠藤にとってキリスト教の神とは温かく和みを与える存在で、西洋のキリスト教に現れる神とは違って母のような後ろめたい転がり者を後ろから抱いてくださる母なる者の神認識でもある。このような認識は遠藤の生い立ちの影響もあるとも言えよう。裏切ったものを何度でも赦し、敢えて愛を降り注ぐ慈しみ深い神である。多文化のなかで形成されつつあるとの遠藤の神認識は日本独特な認識で、特にカトリック信仰に基づいた神認識ともいえよう。
