'문법'과 '문맥' 사이

국문 초록

김형효의 노장사상 독법은 해체론적 시각을 특징으로 한다. 그는 이를 통해 노장사상의 사유문법을 무위적 사유에 바탕을 사실성의 철학으로 자리매김한다. 그의 주장에 따르면, 사실성의 철학은 유위적 사유에 바탕을 둔 현실성의 철학이나 당위적 사유에 뿌리를 둔 이상성의 철학과 대비되는 것으로, 21세기 포스트모던의 시대가 요청하는 새로운 세상보기로서 의미를 지닌다. 노장사상에 대한 김형효의 이러한 독법은 철학적 해석의 측면에서 노장사상이해의 지평을 넓혀주는 역할을 한다. 반면에 그의 독법은 해체론적 읽기에 지나치게 치우쳐 있어 몇 가지 점에서 제대로 된 노장사상 읽기를 방해하는 면도 있다. 첫째는 텍스트 전승과정이 상대적으로 복잡한 노장에 대해 문헌학적 비평을 생략하고 있다는 점이고, 둘째는 텍스트가 생성 또는 전승되어 온 배경에 대한 맥락적 접근을 소홀히 한다는 점이며, 셋째는 그의 노장사상 이해가 지나치게 노자 중심적이라는 점이다. 이는 곧 김형효의 노장사상 독법이 사상사라는 '문맥'보다 사유구조라는 '문법'에 지나치게 중점을 두는 데에서 비롯된 한계이다. 따라서 노장사상 연구 분야에서 김형효의 작업이 의미있는 유산으로 평가되기 위해서는 이 부분에 대한 균형잡힌 보완이 요청된다.

영문 초록

Kim Hyung-hyo's reading of Taoism features the standpoint of deconstructionism. He redifined the reasoning grammar of Taoism as the Philosophy of Facticity based on the thought of inactivity. According to him, the Philosophy of Facticity suggests a new way of seeing the world, which 21C, the post-modern era, demands. Also, It is contrasted with the Philosophy of Reality based on the thought of activity, and the Philosophy of Ideality based on the thought of duty. The author's reading of Taoism opened new doors to understanding Taoism in terms of philosophical interpretation. However, since his reading is weighted towards the deconstructionism, it can be obstacle to fully understanding Taoism in some ways. First, though Taoism's inheritance process of text is quite complicated, his reading neglected the philological criticism on Taoism. Second, he pay little attention to contextual analysis of the background where the texts have created and been passed. Lastly, his understanding of Taoism is too Lao-tzu-centric, which resulted from his asymmetric focus on the grammar, the structure of thinking, rather than the context. Thus, a well-balanced consideration is needed for his work to be estimated as the meaningful inheritance in the field of Taoism study.
