항공사 선택속성의 IPA 분석을 통한 전략 도출에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 국적항공사와 저가항공사를 이용자를 대상으로 16개의 항공사 선택속성 항목을 도출하여 국적항공사와 저가항공사에 대한 IPA분석을 통한 실무적인 시사점들을 도출하고자 하였다. 실증조사를 통해 검증된 구체적인 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 항공사 선택에 있어 중요하게 생각하는 속성은 직항의 편리성(4.22)인 것으로 나타났고, 항공사 선택에 있어 중요하게 생각하지 않는 속성은 기내 면세품 다양성과 구입용이 (3.05)인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 국적항공사 이용에 있어 가장 만족하는 속성은 공항카운터 서비스의 친절성(4.15)인 것으로 나타났고, 가장 불만족하는 속성은 직항의 편리성(2.81)인 것으로 나타났다. IPA분석을 통해 나타난 유지 강화가 필요한 영역(우측 상단)은 비행안전에 대한 신뢰성이 있다, 운항시간의 정확성(정시성)을 지킨다 등 6개 속성으로 나타났고, 평가에 있어 낮은 우선순위의 영역은 항공권 환불 서비스가 편리하다, 안락한 좌석과 여유 공간이 있다 등 4개 속성으로 나타났다. 셋째, 저가항공사 이용에 있어 가장 만족하는 속성은 운항취소/지연에 따른 보상제도(4.11)인 것으로 나타났고, 가장 불만족하는 속성은 비행안전에 대한 신뢰성(2.39)인 것으로 나타났다. IPA분석을 통해 나타난 유지 강화가 필요한 영역(우측 상단)은 항공요금이 저렴하다, 기내 승무원이 친절하다 등 5개 속성으로 나타났고, 평가에 있어 낮은 우선순위의 영역은 기내식/음료 서비스가 다양하고 질이 좋다의 1개 속성으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The research involved a survey on customers of national airline as well as low cost carriers to identify 16 items that were considered as airline selection attributes. The objective was to derive practical business advice for airlines based on IPA. The empirical study yielded the following outcomes. First, in selecting an airline, customers put priority on the convenience of travel routes (4.22 points), while they did not care much about the variety of duty-free products available on flight or convenience of purchasing them (3.05 points). Next, in using national airlines, customers were most satisfied with service quality at airport counters (4.15 points), and least satisfied with the convenience of the flight routes (2.81 points). The IPA results identified six strong areas (‘Keep up the Good Work’), including credibility of flight safety and punctuality. Also, four low priority areas were identified that included convenient refund system, comfortable seats and spacious leg room. Third, in using budget airlines, customers were most satisfied with compensation for cancelled/delayed flights (4.11 points), and least satisfied with credibility of safety (2.39 points). The IPA results found five strong areas (‘Keep up the Good Work’) including low price and good attitude of flight attendants, and identified one low priority area, which was a wide variety of high quality food and beverages offered during the flight.
