독서의 치유 기능과 문학의 환상성

국문 초록

인문학의 실용적 가치를 탐색하는 과정에서 문학 독서를 통한 치유효과에 대한 논의도 활발해지고 있다. 독서의 치유 효과는 오래전부터 관심의 대상이었으며, 최근 독서치료 혹은 문학치료와 관련하여 여러 학회와 학술지를 중심으로 다양한 연구가 쏟아지고 있다. 그런데 이 논문들은 대부분 치료사례를 중심으로 연구가 진행될 뿐, 치료의 핵심 원리인 카타르시스에 관한 연구조차 체계화되지 않은 상황이다. 카타르시스는 관습과 규범의 억압을 풀어놓고 결핍을 충족하며, 무지에서 벗어나 고정관념을 뛰어넘는 가치를 추구하여 앎의 세계로 진입하는 즐거움이다. 그 즐거움은 다른 분야가 제공하는 즐거움과 달리 섬세한 상징과 은유, 알레고리 등 다양한 문학적 장치들이 엮어내는 이야기의 담론에서 발생하기에 독자의 삶에 깊이 관여한다. 특히 문학의 환상성은 자동적인 반응을 교묘하게 회피하면서 관습의 껍질을 깨뜨리는 새로움을 제공하기에 카타르시스를 통한 독서 치유 기능에 중요한 역할을 한다. 인간은 본능적으로 이야기를 통한 재현의 욕구가 있다. 재현된 형상화를 재형상화하면서 독자는 세계를 이해하고 자신의 삶을 이해한다. 그렇게 삶의 뜻을 다시 풀어보고 행동을 통해 자기 삶을 새롭게 만들어나가는 과정이 카타르시스이고, 그 치유의 원리가 독서의 치유 기능이다. 환상은 현실과 무관하지 않다. 환상은 삶의 세계가 특정한 현실 개념에 의해 고정화되는 것을 저지하는 항체 역할과 독자를 가르치지 않고 설득하는 역할을 한다. 문학의 환상성이 단순히 흥미를 끄는 전략으로 작동한다면 독자들을 말초적으로 자극할 뿐이다. 영화와 드라마, 게임은 이미 환상을 대중적 전략으로 활용하고 있으며 흥미 위주의 가벼움이 환상의 다양한 가치를 가로막고 있다. 삶의 총체성과 윤리성을 진정성 있게 포착해내는 『국경시장』과 같은 환상소설은 카타르시스를 통한 독서의 치유 기능에 중요한 역할을 할 것이다.

영문 초록

While find the practical value of the humanities discussions on healing through literature reading is active. Healing of reading was of interest for a long time, and bibliotherapy and literature therapy journals in a variety of papers have been published recently. However, this paper will treat most cases, as well as research progresses, the treatment did not even discuss the depth study on the key principles of catharsis. Catharsis has overcome the oppression of the customs and norms, to meet the deficit, out of ignorance in pursuit of value to overcome the stereotypes, it is a pleasure to enter into the world of knowledge. Such a pleasure to be deeply involved in the lives of readers to occur in the discourse of delicate symbols and metaphors, such as the story that weaves a variety of literary devices. Especially literature fantasy provides a newness that overcomes the customs to avoid automatic response, plays an important role in reading healing function of catharsis principle. Humans have an instinctive desire for mimesis through the story. The reader is a re-figuration mimesis figuration. And the reader understand the world and understand their lives. We understand the meaning of life again, and the process of creating a new own life catharsis, the principle of healing is the healing function of reading. Fantasy and reality are related. Fantasy is an antibody serves to prevent a world of life immobilized by a specific reality concept. And it serves to convince the reader not teach. Movies and dramas, the game has already been using the popular fantasy strategy. And lightness of interest are disparage the various value of fantasy. Fantasy fiction, such as the totality of life authenticity able to capture that The Border Market will play an important role in the healing function of reading through a catharsis.
