국문 초록

미국의 시각미술교육기준이 2014년도에 개정되었다. 2014년도 시각미술교육기준에서는 1994년도 시각미술교육기준에서 등장하지 않았던 새로운 개념들과 운영체계가 소개되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 예술적 소양을 지닌 시민, 영속 가능한 이해, 핵심질문, 연결목표, 예술적인 과정, 역방향 설계, 기초평가모형, 수행목표와 같은 새롭게 등장하는 용어들의 의미를 상세히 살펴보았다. 그리고 이들 사이의 관계와 새로운 교육기준의 운영의 구조에 대하여 분석해 보았다. 본 연구를 통하여 필자는 한국의 미술교육자들이 미국의 2014년도 시각미술교육기준을 명확하게 이해하기를 바란다. 마지막으로 이 연구에서는 새로운 교육기준의 운영구조와 개념들이 어떻게 한국의 시각 미술교육기준의 개발과 교육과정의 운영에 영향을 미칠 수 있을지에 대해서도 간략하게 서술해 보았다.

영문 초록

This study examines 2014 visual arts standards in the U.S as they include new ideas and concepts. This study also provides definitions and applications of new concepts, terminologies, and their inter-relationships for art education practitioners who are unfamiliar with the visual arts standards. New ideas and concepts in the standards include anchor standards, artistic processes, artistically literate and artistically literate citizens, backward design, enduring understandings, essential questions, models of cornerstone assessments and performance standards. By understanding the concepts and framework of the standards, art educators are able to apply them to their own visual arts curriculum within their cultural and pedagogical contexts in order to develop their own unique standard-based visual arts curriculum.
