미술대학 실기실의 창작환경 실태분석과 문제점에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 미술대학 실기실 환경조사 점검항목에 따른 창작환경 실태 분석과 질병 및 안전사고 사례 분석을 바탕으로 실기실 창작환경 기준 매뉴얼 작성 가이드라인 수립의 필요성을 문제제기하기 위한 연구이다. 연구에서는 미술대학 실기실의 불충분한 환경문제의 실상을 파악하고 그 동안 언급되지 않았던 미술재료의 유해성 및 실기실 환경문제의 중요성을 파악하고자 했다. 이를 위해 미술재료들이 유발하는 각종 질병 현황을 학문적, 사례적 기반을 통해 분석하였다. 예술가로서의 삶을 지탱해 줄 경제력과 건강은 매우 필요하다. 미술가들은 산업 현장과 유사한 작업환경 하에서 창작 작업 을 한다. 그럼에도 일반인보다 높은 발병률 및 사망률을 보인다. 작가들은 그들이 작업하는 환경과 미술재료들이 인체의 건강에 미치는 영향을 간과하고 있으며 창작의 결과물에만 관심을 두고 있다. 유관 부처와 학교 당국이 시급히 필요로 하는 바로 첫째, 필요 충분한 법률적 요건의 제정이 시급하며 이를 통해 미술가들이 창작활동 중 접하게 되는 유해환경물질의 노출수준 파악을 통해 안전하게 작업할 수 있는 지침을 제공 하는 기준 설정이 필요하다. 둘쨰, 실효성 있는 실기실 운용 가이드라인 규정 정립이 필요하다. 본 연구를 통해 정부차원의 미술대학 실기실 관리와 사용 수칙 가이드라인 제정 및 미술재료의 라벨부착 법률화가 요구되며 각급 학교의 실기실 사용자를 위한 인지교육실시 등 독려를 유발해야 한다.

영문 초록

This research is for analysing the status of creative environment according to the environmental research of the list of items that need to be checked within an art university’s practice rooms, i.e. studios, in order to support the need for establishing a common manual and a guideline for the studio. This research aims to address various problems including toxic materials and other problems that can be found within an art university’s studios. In order to do so, various diseases that can be acquired from art supplies were analysed by academic standards and case studies. In order for an artist to maintain a certain quality of life, good health and financial stability are essential. Most artists work within an environment similar to that of industrial workers. Therefore, many artists seem more vulnerable to diseases and show higher mortality rate than an average person. Related government organisations and schools need, first and foremost, establishing of legal grounds on which a clear standard can be set to assess the level of toxic environmental factors and materials artists face during their creative process. Secondly, there is a dire need for establishing a clear and enforceable guideline by which studios can be maintained and used. Through this research, a move for establishing clear guideline for studio usage and legal requirement for labelling of art supplies by the government should take place, and necessary education should take place to allow studio users to be made aware of these issues.
