국문 초록

본 연구는 현대 디지털 시각문화가 아동 미술 발달에 미치는 영향을 파악함으로써 미술과 교육과정 개선을 위한 시사점을 이끌어 내는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 아동의 자발적 드로잉, 개인 SNS로 공유한 이미지와 그들이 접하는 디지털 시각문화간의 관련성을 분석하였다. 연구 결과 디지털 시각문화는 아동들이 미술 표현 양식, 주제, 표현 원리를 선택하는 데 영향을 주었을 뿐만 아니라 또래 간에 이미지를 생산 하고 공유하며 상호 멘토링을 주고받는 참여 문화를 경험하는 공간으로 작용하였다. 또한 아동들은 참여 문화 속에서 미술 지식을 재구성하고 미술에 대해 새로운 관점과 긍정적인 태도로 도전하도록 사회화되는 발달 양상을 보였다. 이에 본 연구자는 현대 디지털 시각문화로 인해 나타나는 아동 미술 발달 과정의 다양성과 참여 문화적 특성을 반영하는 메타 인지적 교수학습 전략의 필요성을 제기한다.

영문 초록

The central claim of this article is that contemporary digital culture such as games, web toons, and SNS contents diversify child development in Art through engaging children into the participatory culture. This article takes microscopic approach of qualitative research method in order to disclose plurality and context of child development in art. To investigate children’s contemporary digital visual culture, authors asked children about their digital experiences out of school. Then authors searched characteristics of the digital visual culture that children were interested in, and analyzed the relevance between digital visual culture and children’s spontaneous drawing or the images that was shared by children through SNS. The result of this study is that digital visual culture influence children on deciding representation style, theme, and expression principles. In addition, it is observed that digital visual culture was conjugated as the mutual mentoring space in which communication occurs between peers using a postmodern formative principles. In the concluding section of this article, authors assert to reflect the diverse aspect of child development in art in contemporary digital visual culture to the teaching and learning strategy. Authors urge actions to promote improvement of the art education curriculum.
