다중지능 프로그램이 학습에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 다층메타분석을 통하여 국내에서 개발되어 사용된 다중지능 프로그램이 청소년의 학습에 미치는 효과크기와 영향을 미치는 변인을 살펴보는데 있다. 이를 위해 설정한 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 1) 다중지능 프로그램이 청소년의 학습에 미치는 전체평균 효과크기와 영향을 미치는 변인은 무엇인가? 2) 다중지능 프로그램이 청소년의 학습전반과 학습 하위영역에 미치는 효과크기와 영향을 미치는 변인은 무엇인가? 총 23편의 논문을 대상으로 분석한 결과 첫째, 다중지능 프로그램이 학습이 미치는 효과크기는 0.978로 추정되었다. 다중지능 프로그램은 학습에 큰 효과크기를 보이고 있다고 할 수 있다. 둘째, 다중지능 프로그램이 학습에 미치는 효과 크기가 연구에 따라 다른 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 이러한 차이가 어떻게 나타나는 것인지를 설명하고자 하여 예측변인을 2수준 모형에 투입하였는데, 예측변인들 중 유아와 초등 대상의 프로그램 간, 유아와 중고등학생 프로그램 간에 유의한 효과 크기의 차이가 나타났고, 회기수에 따라서 효과 크기가 달라지는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 유아를 대상으로 한 프로그램일수록, 회기수가 증가할수록 프로그램의 효과가 높은 것을 의미한다. 셋째, 다중지능 프로그램이 학습전반에 미치는 효과 크기는 0.663으로 나타났고, 학습하위영역에 미치는 효과크기는 1.099로 나타나 다중지능 프로그램이 학습영역에 따라 각기 다른 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 여기에서의 학습전반은 학업에서의 태도와 동기 혹은 학습 결과로서의 학업성취도와 학교적응 등, 학습하위영역은 수개념, 어휘력, 과학탐구능력 등을 포함한다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 결과와 관련한 시사점 및 추후연구를 위한 제언에 대해 논하였다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the effect of multiple intelligence programs on adolescent learning by looking at the effect sizes and affecting variables through multilevel meta-analysis. Specific research questions for the study were as follows. 1) What is the overall average effect size of multiple intelligence programs on adolescent learning and what are the affecting variables? 2) What are the effects sizes and affecting variables of multiple intelligence programs on general learning as well as subdomains of learning? As a result of analyzing 23 related studies, the effect size of multiple intelligence programs on learning was estimated to be 0.978, indicating a large effect size. Also, in observing differences in effect size by study, predictor variables were entered in the level 2 model to find out the causes of such differences. Significant effect size differences were found between programs for preschool children and elementary students, as well as between programs for preschool children and middle and high school students. In addition, program effect sizes appeared to change according to the number of sessions. Lastly, the effect size of multiple intelligence programs on general learning was 0.663, and 1.099 for specific learning domains. Here, general learning refers to variables such as attitude or motivation for learning, level of academic achievement, and school adjustment. Implications of these results and suggestions for follow-up studies were discussed.
