서예의 인성교육적 가치에 대한 고찰

국문 초록

본 연구는 우리의 서예교육이 지난 한 세기 동안 근대적 교육제도 속에서 주로 ‘조형미’를 중심으로 연구되고 교육되어왔다는 반성에서부터 출발한다. 서예는 ’실용’，‘ 예술’ ，‘인격수양’의 을 포괄하는 독특한 특정을 지닌다. 그럼에도 불구 하고 근대적 미술개념인 ’조형성에 초점이 맞추어져 교육이 이루어지다보니‘ 서예에 내재해 있는 ’인격미’ 가 간과되어 온 것이 사실이다. 또한 현재 우리 사회와 교육현장에서 인성교육이 미흡한 실정을 감안해 볼 때‘ 이러한 문제의식을 기초로 수양론을 대표하는 서여기인론(書如其人論)’을 고찰하고, 이를 통해 서예가 지니는 인성교육적 가치를 재조명하는 일은 의미가 있을 것이다. ‘서여기인’ 은 서예작품의 창작과 감상에 있어 창작주체의 인품을 함께 논하는 인식구조를 기반으로 한다. 즉 ‘조형미’와 함께 ‘인격미’를 강조한다. 또한 이러한 서예의 가치 인식을 기반으로 하여 서예학습 자체에 내재해 있는 정의적 요소를 살펴본다면, 중화미(中和美)의 체득을 통한 감정의 절제, 몰입을 통한 자기정화의 효과, 서제(書題)의 교훈을 통한 자아성찰 건전한 여가문화의 활용 등을 생각해 볼 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study of our calligraphy education will begin with the reflection of our experiences with 'formative beauty' which is the center of our modern educational system for the past century. The structure of calligraphy is essentially established upon 'practical use', 'Art', and 'Personality Cultivation'. Despite having applied 'formativeness', a concept of modern art, into our education system, 'Personality Beauty', which is an inherent part of calligraphy has been allowed to be overlooked. In addition, by considering the insufficient consideration given upon the education of character in our society and educational system. and examining Seo-Yeo-Gi-In theory, which is a cultivation theory representing the basis of our awareness of these issues, it will be meaningful to refocus the values of education of character. which is through calligraphy. 'Seo-Yeo-Gi-In', this mean is consideried creator's personality when someone appreciate his or her work. Through 'Formative beauty', 'Character Beauty' will be emphasized, Also, by examining for affective elements in the learning of calligraphy itself. based upon calligraphy's values, we will be able to find the applications of emotional discipline through 'Harmony of beauty', self-purification through being immersed, self-reflection through calligraphy's titles. and healthy recreational cultures.
