국문 초록

『청성잡기』는 작품과 비평이 공존하는 실제비평에 해당한다. 『청성잡기』는 成大中(1732~1812)의 글로 3책 5권이다. 1책은 ｢췌언｣, ｢질언｣, ｢성언｣으로 구성되어 있으며, 2책과 3책은 ｢성언｣으로만 이루어져 있다. 이 중 李德懋(1741~1793)의 평은 1책에만 수록되어 있다. 이덕무는 젊은 시절 창작과 비평의 영역에서 왕성한 지적활동을 보여준다. 특히 비평에 대한 상당한 관심이 있었으며 이에 상응하는 결과물들이 『청장관전서』에 존재하고 또한 朴趾源(1737~1805)의 『종북소선』과 徐有榘(1764~1845)의 『풍석고협집』에 대해서 평을 하였다. 시간 순으로 살펴보면 이덕무의 나이 31세 때 『종북소선』에 평을 했고, 48세 때 『풍석고협집』에 평을 했으며, 51세 때 『청성잡기』에 평을 하였다. 즉 『청성잡기』에 수록된 이덕무의 평은 전 시기 실제비평의 연장선상에 있으며 또한 그의 마지막 실제비평이라 할 수 있다. 『청성잡기』에 나타난 이덕무의 평은 전 시기의 실제비평에서 보여주었던 그의 특징적인 부분들이 여전히 존재한다. 이러한 평어는 성대중의 논지를 객관화 하고 공고화하는 역할을 한다. 나아가 성대중과 다른 의견을 개진하기도 하여 역사적 사건에 대한 해석의 다층화를 보여주기도 한다. 또한 인용을 통한 평어들에서는 그가 산문 비평가로서 가진 뛰어난 감식안과 조합능력을 볼 수 있으며, 감각적인 평어들을 사용한 곳에서는 작품에 대한 인식을 자신의 독특한 언어로 표현하는 미적의식을 엿볼 수 있다. 이러한 점은 이덕무가 남긴 실제비평에서 일관되게 볼 수 있다. 『청성잡기』에 나타난 평어들은 텍스트가 지닌 필기류라는 성향에 때문에 전대 실제비평에서 나타났던 문예미적 지향과 개성적인 면모가 부각된 참신한 표현들은 다소 떨어진다. 그러나 자기 문예미 발산에 효과적으로 사용하는 특색은 여전히 존재한다. 바꾸어 말하면, 『청성잡기』에 나타난 평어 중 『종북소선』, 『풍석고협집』의 평어들과 연관되는 부분은 이덕무가 실제비평에 있어서의 기본적인 지향점이라 할 수 있다. 따라서 『청성잡기』의 평어 양상은 표면적으로 드러난 이덕무의 晩年 실제 산문비평이라는 의의 이외에 그가 일생동안 추구해 왔던 산문비평의 기본적인 지향과 준거를 볼 수 있다는데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Chungsungjapgi, which coexists the literary works and critical comments, is a real criticism. The author of Chungsungjapgi is Seong Dae-Jung and it is comprised of three books and five volumes. The first book is comprised of Chweun, Jilun, Sungun, and the second and third books are only comprised of Sungun. The critical comments of Lee Deok-mu(1741~1793) are included in only the first book. Lee Deok-mu, in his early days, was thriving in the area of creation and critical comments, and he was especially interested in critical comments. His critical comments were included in ChungJangKwanJunseo, and he also criticized in Jongbuksoseon, written by Park Ji-won, and Poongseokgohyeobjib, written by Seo Yu-gu. Looking at the chronological order, Lee Deok-mu criticized the texts of Jongbuksoseon, Poongseokgohyeobjib, and Chungsungjapgi at the age of thirty-one, Forty-eight, and fifty-one. In other words, Lee Deok-mu's critical comments on Chungsungjapgi was an extension of real critical comments through his whole life, and his last real critical comments. There are still the Lee Deok-mu's characteristic, shown in real criticism through his whole periods, in his critical comments on Chungsungjapgi. These critical comments play a crucial role in objectifying and firming Seong Dae-Jung's thoughts. Furthermore, his opinions often show the diversity of interpretation about historical events as presenting different opinions with Seong Dae-Jung's view. In addition, in the critical comments with quotations, we can see his special critical talent and combining ability. His sensuous critical remarks also showed his aesthetic consciousness that he expressed the perception of literary works in his peculiar ways. These points were consistent in Lee Deok-mu's real criticism. since the literary style of Chungsungjapgi is Pilgi(筆記), the critical comments on Chungsungjapgi are less literary and less individual rather than his previous real critical comments. However, there is still his characteristic expressing his aesthetic sense effectively. In other words, basically, Lee Deok-mu's real criticism aimed for presenting his own aesthetic sense and sensuous critical remarks that are all in Chungsungjapgi, Jongbuksoseon and Poongseokgohyeobjib. In other words, Lee Deok-mu' critical comments on Chungsungjapgi are meant to not only his last real critical comments but also his fundamental orientation and principles on literary critical comments.
