국문 초록

丹齋 晩年의 사상적 도달지점을 '무정부주의' 또는 '민중혁명론'이라 평가하는 것이 일반적이다. 물론 ｢朝鮮革命宣言｣ 및 그의 晩年의 交遊를 살펴보면 丹齋가 계몽적 민족주의를 거쳐 고대사연구를 통한 새로운 역사관을 채용한 뒤의 도달지점을 破壞와 創造를 기본 구조로 삼는 정치사상으로 파악하는 것이 전혀 억지스럽지 않은 것도 사실이다. 그러나 적어도 저자의 文面 진술을 그대로 번역하는 것에서 벗어나 여러 의도를 담은 소통을 예비하는 수사적 장치로서 파악하는 것이 문학연구의 기본 방향이다. 그러므로 문학연구는 저자가 '왜 그러해야 했는가'에 대한 물음, 곧 인간 丹齋의 시각에서의 물음 또한 중요하게 제기되어야 할 필요가 있으며, 그러한 물음을 바탕에 두고 그의 만년의 작품인 ｢龍과 龍의 大激戰｣을 분석할 경우, '무정부주의' 혹은 '민중혁명론'이라는 정치사상의 지향과는 조금 다른 丹齋의 글쓰기 의식을 추출해낼 수 있게 된다. 이를 통해 한 사람의 사상가로서, 정치지도자로서의 丹齋의 내면에서 숨쉬고 있는 자기환멸과 자기성찰의 복잡한 긴장관계를 복원할 수 있는 가능성을 발견할 수 있으며, 그렇게함으로써 글쓰기 행위를 통해 쉼없이 자기를 돌아보며 세상과 대결했던 丹齋의 본모습이 조금 더 생생하게 재현될 수 있을 것이다. 일종의 '감정의 배설구'로서의 글쓰기의 기능을 통해 丹齋는 자신의 지적 고독 및 세상과의 대결에서 비롯된 감정의 긴장을 해소할 수 있었고 이는 丹齋를 의연한 모습으로 이미지화하여 자기 완결적인 존재로 우리게 받아들이게끔 만든 이유라 할 것이다. 이러한 접근방법은 개화계몽기와 그 이후 한국 근현대문학을 가로질렀던 일군의 지식인들을 전통 지식인들의 성찰적 태도와 그 결과물로서의 저작들이 지닌 복합적 메시지를 해석하는 데 새로운 접근이 가능함을 보여주는 것이 될 수도 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The Purpose of this paper is aimed at examining the relation between the self-consciousness of the Shin Chae-ho who had steadily tried to find a solution to colonialization and the his writing method in narrative papers written in his twilight life in exile in Chinese. A lot of Korean Modern Literature researchers regard Shin Chae-ho's Dragon War (Yong-gwa Yong-eui taekyeokjeon 龍과 龍의 大激戰) as the anarchism text because of the narrative structure that the Earth people, a victim of oppression overthrowed the dictatorship of sang-je(the God) and the ruling classes in the celestial world since the beginnings of the universe and narrate the struggle between '드래군(Deuraegun, Dragon)'(the metaphor of the power of people's revolution) and '미리(Miri)'(the metaphor of the power of ruler) resulted in the extinction. A literary style and the way of writing of Korean traditional intellectual's papers can be understood as a method for researching the inner inquiry of Korean traditional intellectual and as a trace of establishment of their new values. Also Shin Chae-ho's writing can be accepted as a writing trace finding out the way of establishment of new values which can correct distortions of Korean history severely ruled by the Japsnese imperialism and enlignten Korean people. The clue of this is in In Dragon War. In Dragon War, we can find out not only the anarchism motif that people can defeat the tyranny and all of ruling system must be destroied, but also the message that Shin felt lonely in Manchuria where he sought asylum after the Joseon Dynasty's ruination. The both extinction of '드래군' and '미리(Miri)' at the end of Dragon War means Shin's nihilistic thought that everything he have done so far was in vain. Because his history research methology that the Korean history is the contium of the struggle process beetween 'A(我, means 'the Subject')' and 'Bi-A(非我, means 'the enemy')' caused him to have the set of values of the relationship and view of the world.
