국문 초록

이 연구에서는 대체의사소통체계 사용이 최중도 뇌성마비아동의 의사소통 기술 습득 및 유지에 미치는 효과에 대해 살펴보았다. 1명의 최중도 경직형 뇌성마비아동을 대상으로 상황간 중다 기초선 설계를 사용하여 점심시간, 비디오 보는 시간, 물리치료시간의 세 가지 상황에서 기초선, 중재, 유지의 단계로 실시되었다. 이 연구에서는 보완․대체 의사소통 관련 연구들에서 사용한 대상자 선정 기준으로는 제외될 수밖에 없는 최중도의 뇌성마비아동을 대상으로 면담과 관찰, 비공식적 검사 등을 이용하여 아동의 필요와 현재 기능의 수준, 장점 등을 고려하여 ‘트윈 토크(twin talk)'를 대체의사소통 장치로 선정하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 대체의사소통체계 사용은 최중도 뇌성마비아동의 의사소통기술 습득에 효과적이었다. 둘째, 대체의사소통 체계 사용을 통한 최중도 뇌성마비아동의 의사소통 기술 습득의 효과는 중재가 종결된 후에도 유지되었다. 연구 결과에 대한 논의와 후속연구를 위한 제언을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of alternative communication system on communication skill of a child with severe cerebral palsy. The subject was 1 elementary school child with severe cerebral palsy. Using the multiple baseline design across settings, the 3 settings, lunch time, watching video time, and free play time were analysed. According to subject's need, functional level, strength, et al., twin talk, one of the voice out put device was chosen. This research e data collecting method was numbers of affirmative and correct responses about researcher's questions in three settings were recorded in each response sheets. The results of this study were as followed: First, using alternative communication system was effective on improving the communication skill acquisition of a child with severe cerebral palsy. Second, the improved communication skill through using alternative communication system was maintained 4 weeks after the intervention was terminated. And to generalize this research's conclusion, replications to secondary school children with severe handicapped are needed in the future.
