국문 초록

19세기 민족주의 시대, 보스니아는 외세의 지배를 벗어나지 못한 채 민족주의의 실질적인 피해자로 전락해야하는 아픔을 겪어야 했다. 19세기 민족주의가 도입된 이후 보스니아는 종교에 기초한‘문화적 민족주의(Cultural Nationalism)’ 성향을 띠게 된다. 이를 기초로 보스니아내에는 이슬람을 믿는 보스니아 무슬림, 세르비아 정교 신자인 세르비아인 그리고 가톨릭을 믿는 크로아티아인들로서로 나뉘어 민족간 대립과 반목이 지속되어 왔으며, 이러한 현상은 20세기말 유럽내 최대의 인종 참극으로 불려졌던 보스니아 내전으로까지 이어지게 되었다. 본 글에서는 이러한 연구 배경을 바탕 으로 19세기 민족주의 시대를 중심으로 당시 보스니아내에 파급된 민족주의가 보스니아내 각 민족들에게 어떻게 다가왔으며 어떠한 영향을 미치게 되었는지에 대해 살펴보게 될 것이다.

영문 초록

Nationalism, which began to spread to the Central and the Balkan Europe from the Western Europe after the 19C, is changed differently from the West according to the situation and the circumstances of the nations in this area. If say Nationalism of the West such as “Political nationalism”, we can say Nationalism in the Central and the Balkan Europe such as “Cultural Nationalism”. With this view point, in this paper, I analyze about the process and the meaning of nationalism in Bosnia during the age of 19C' which has a effect in a ‘Bosnian Civil War(or Bosnian National War)’ in the end of 20C. In the chapter II, I analyze the social and economic characteristic of Bosnia under Ottoman Turk rule during the age of 19C' nationalism, and study which Ottoman Turk's politics had an effect on nations in Bosnia. In the chapter III is devoted to searching the meaning of the historical event 1878, which was Bosnia under the control of Austria, and I study the social and cultural characteristic of Bosnia under Austrian rule during the age of 19C' nationalism. At the same time, in this chapter, I analyze the making process of Nationalism in Bosnia and that's influences after the Austria's annexation 1908. Finally, in the chapter VI, I summarize how effect Nationalism in Bosnia, and why Bosnia is called such as ‘Mosaic of Religion and Culture’.
