국문 초록

루마니아 공산주의 시절의 망명 작가 파울 고마는 망명 작가들중에서 유일한 반체제 운동가로 간주된다. 문학학도로서 루마니아 공산주의 정부와는 다른 의사 표시로 수용소에서 감호처분을 받은 것을 비롯하여 이 작가의 생활은 고난의 연속이었다. 그의 작품과 저항운동으로 인하여 루마니아의 솔제니친이라고 간주되는 이 작가는 대부분의 그의 작품을 루마니아에서 먼저 출판하지 못하고 해외에서 출판되었다.모든 이 작가의 출판물은 정치소설이며 소설의 모든 소재는 자서 전에서 온 것이다. 내면적인 경험의 세계가 허구와 사실의 융합을 통해 소설로 나타난 것이다. 고마의 모든 소설들의 모델이 되는 Ostinato 라는 소설은 그 이름을 음악에서 빌려왔는데 사라지지 않고 끊임없이 나타나는 주인공의 심리적인 압박상황을 의미한다.모든 소설들의 주된 테마는 주로 스탈린적인 지하 감옥에서 벌어진 비인간적인 사건들이다. 고마는 저항하기 위해서 그 고통들을 잊지 않고 침묵하지 않는다. 그리고 이 고발 외에 고향 베사라비아에서 추방된 고마 가족의 고통과 향수가 소설의 중요한 주제이다.고향은 망명 작가에게는 정체성의 원천으로 나타난다. 이러한 주제들은 무질서하게 떠오르는 듯한 작가의 기억 속에서 전개된다. 망명 작가들의 루마니아 문학으로의 수용과 통합과정에서 고마 는 심한 저항에 직면해 있다. 이것은 공산주의 독재 시절 루마니아 지식인들과 작가들이 항거하지 않고 자유로운 문학 활동을 포기하며 정부와 타협했다고 하는 그의 비난이 간접적으로 해당되는 사람들에게조차도 부적당하고 자기자랑이라고 인식되었기 때문이다. 그래서 고마는 망명 작가의 자국문학 통합 과정에서 가장 주목되는 연구대상이다.

영문 초록

Exiled writer in the Romanian communist era, Paul Goma is considered as an unique writer among the exiled writers who experienced the antiestablishment movement. As a consequence of his antigovernmental attitude as a literary scholar, he was kept in custody by the Romanian communist government, and therefore his life continued to be overshadowed in pain. Many Romanian critics regard him as Solzhenitsyn in Romania because of his tendency of literary works and resistance, and therefore, almost of his works were not published in Romania but in foreign countries in the first place. Goma's published works are political novels and their subject matters originate in his autobiography. The inner world of his experiences was transformed and sublimated into the novel through the fusion between fictions and realities. The typical model of Goma's novels based on the novel Ostinato, which borrows its name from music, generally means hero's state of psychological pressure which appears eternally. The main themes of his works are inspired from the inhuman events on the Stalinist underground prison for the most part. Goma does not forget the pains suffered and could not be kept silent. Above and beyond these indictments, moreover, other themes are the nostalgia and the pain of Goma's family exiled from Bessarabia. Hometown is the source of identity especially for the exiled writer. All of his themes are unfolded in the author's chaotic memories. In the unified process and acceptance of exiled writers into the modern Romanian literature, Paul Goma confronts confused states. He criticizesmany Romanian writers and intellectuals who did not resist stoutly but made a compromise with the government abandoning liberal literary activities, but his accusations were not suited to all the writers who indirectly and superficially got into literary action at that time. Therefore Goma became the most interesting subject of study for the unification of exiled writers into motherland's literature in Romania.
