유치원과 초등학교 교육의 차이와 연계에 대한 교사와 부모의 이해 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 유치원과 초등학교 교육의 차이, 연계교육의 의미, 연계교육의 문제와 해결방안에 대한 교사와 부모의 이해를 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 병설 유치원과 초등학교 교사와 학부모 20명을 대상으로 개인면담과 집단면담을 실시하고 그 내용을 전사하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 유치원과 초등학교 교육의 차이는 기관․교사․유아의 측면에서 자율 대 구조, 교과ㆍ시간․공간의 측면에서 통합 대 분리, 사회ㆍ정서적 돌봄 대 학습의 대비로 나타났다. 교사와 부모가 인식한 유치원과 초등학교 연계교육의 의미는 유치원과 초등학교 함께하기, 닮아가기, 이어가기였다. 유치원과 초등학교 연계교육의 문제와 해결은 교사 이미지의 다름, 교육과정의 다름과 이해부족, 평가의 다름, 선행학습의 차이, 지원의 부재로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study is to investigate differences between kindergarten education and elementary school education, the meanings of connections between kindergarten and elementary school, problems in continuity from kindergarten to elementary school and the solutions from the perspective of teachers and parents. To this end, we have conducted individual and group interviews of a group of 20 teachers and parents from public kindergartens and elementary schools and analyzed the results. Results show that the differences are found in Institutes, teachers, children’s autonomy/constructs,integration/separation of curriculums, time and space, social and emotional care/studies. The meanings of connections between kindergarten and elementary school as perceived by teachers and parents are concurrent experience of both courses, becoming similar to kindergarten, and transition from kindergarten to elementary school. Problems arising from the transition from kindergarten to elementary school include differences in teachers’ images, differences in and lack of understanding of curriculums, differences in evaluation, a gap in advance study, and lack of support. Discussions are given based on these results and suggestions are made for further study.
