15세기 鬼神談論과 幽冥敍事의 관련 양상 - 김시습의 「귀신론」과 「남염부주지」를 중심으로

국문 초록

  조선 전기는 인간과 귀신, 유교와 불교, 현실계와 비현실계를 신유학적 이념을 받아들이면서 합리적으로 해석하고자 했던 시기였다. 그러나 논리나 이념만 가지고는 빈틈으로 남겨둘 수밖에 없던 ？魂과 그들의 처소인 異界는 幽冥敍事를 만들어내는 근거로 작용하기도 했다. 귀신담론과 유명 서사가 공존할 수 있었던 이유가 바로 여기에 있다.
  김시습의 「남염부주지」는 그런 면모를 잘 보여주는 작품이다. 유교와 불교 사이에서 방황을 거듭하던 주인공 朴生의 행로는 흥미롭다. 더욱이 작품배경이 작가 자신이 현세를 등질 수밖에 없었던 불법적인 世祖 治世였다는 점도 의미심장하다. 사상적으로, 정치적으로 끊임없이 번민하던 작가 김시습의 내면을 은밀하게 담고 있는 것으로 보이기 때문이다.
  이처럼 김시습을 비롯한 몇몇 조선 전기 사대부 문인에게 유명서사는 현실의 억압으로부터 탈출하는 流路, 또는 현실의 부조리를 되돌아보는 거울의 구실을 수행하곤 했다. 「남염부주지」에서 남성 주인공 박생이 지옥이라든가 초월적 존재라는 타자화된 공간이나 존재들과 꿈속에서 만난다는 유명서사의 창출은, 모순된 현실에 대해 심각한 문제의식과 불만을 품고 있던 작가 자신의 고독하고 혼란스런 내면세계와 결코 무관하지 않을 것이다.

영문 초록

  Early Joseon dynasty was the period when scholars tried to interpret human vs. ghost, Confucianism vs. Buddhism, the real world vs. unreal world reasonably based on the ideology of Sung Confucianism. However, the vindictive spirits that can"t help making gap by logic or ideology, and their dwelling place, or the other world, acted as the ground of making the two world narrative, which is this world and the other world That is why glum discourse and the two world narrative can coexist.
  Namyeombujuji by Kim Si-Seup shows that aspects pretty well. The hero, Park Sang"s course of life that repeated wandering between Confucianism and Buddhism looked considerably enchanting. In addition, it is very meaningful that the setting of the novel was under the reign of unlawful King Sejo, when the author himself had to tum his back on the real world It can be read that the novel contains inner world of the author, Kim Si-Seup entirely who is in anguish continuously in terms of ideology and politics.
  Thus, for some early Joseon period scholar writers, the two world narrative would play a role of flowing course that enabled them to escape from the oppression of the real world, or the mirror that looked back on the absurdity of the world Namyeombujuji created the two world narrative that the hero, Park Sang encountered marginalized space or beings / space of alterity such as hades or a supernatural being in a dream. The creation of the two world narrative would not irrelevant to author"s serious critical mind about contradictory reality and to solitary, confused internal world of the author.
