金井과 梵魚寺 관련 설화 연구

국문 초록

  이 연구는 산 정상 부근에 있는 암석의 凹部에 관 물을 샘이라 호명하고 범천에서 하강한 금빛 물고기가 그곳에서 유영함에 인연하여 범어사를 창건했다는 설화의 생성배경과 새로운 사조가 기존의 설화를 어떻게 활용했던가 라는 문제들을 구명해보자는 의도로 시작했다.
  산봉은 천신이 내주하는 공간, 돌은 불변의 생생력, 주술의 유사법칙에 따른 돌 구덩이의 샘 전환, 풍부하고도 장구한 수량의 금빛과 같은 상징 분석을 통해 금정은 옛날 기우제의 잔존물이며 금정 설화는 금정 주변에서 치러진 기우제의 구술물임을 알 수 있었다.
  범어사는 의상의 적손이 9세기 전반에 건립했으며 사명도 정했다. 불가에서는 물고기를 보신불의 권화라고 믿는다. 금빛을 발산하는 보신불이 상주한다는 의미의 절 이름은 금정의 금빛과 접맥되어 금정설화를 변용하고 환골했다. 그것은 교세의 확충을 위해서였다.
  이렇듯 범어사 설화는 금정 설화를 활용했으나 설화의 본질 면에서는 문제가 있다. 하지만 설화와 시대사조와의 관련 양상을 증언하므로 설화를 통한 사조사의 해명과 편년에 두 설화는 일익을 담당하리라 전망된다.

영문 초록

  We can show the result with items which this study obtained till now as followings:
  1) From the time when one makes fanning as the basis of life, ritual for praying rain hold at the guemjeong where is specified as sacrificial place. The guemjeong has at least possessed the conditions of ritual for praying rain The conditions are these. Summit symbolizes the place where the god of heaven descends, Rock the direct motion of seasons, Rock cavity rock well that is followed principle of magic being based on the law of similarity. The guemjeong folktale is one which is handed down by a group who repeatedly speaks of the ritual for praying rain about the guemjeong.
  2) At the first half of the 9th, Euysang"s best disciple established the Beomeosa and fixed the temple"s name connecting the same colour which the Buddha"s golden skin and Guemjeong"s golden water hold in common. Buddhist association converted the tale of Guemjeong into that of Beomesa"founding for the purpose of amplifying the religious power. It can be proved by the following diagram: heaven→Buddha"heaven. god→fish with golden skin. dragon→fish with golden skin. The fish with golden skin symbolizes the Vairocana and is permeated with desire of the Beomeosa" long flourish.
  3) The tale of Beomesa has problem in the coming into a folktale. But it testifies partly the history of current ideas which our ancestors have experienced so that one can authenticate some significance in it. Both the tales of Guemjeong and Beomesa will be a help to the study examining the history of ideas or religious aspect of development through the folktale whether the media is oral or letter.
