영문 초록

  This thesis is studied about caption"s type and function of entertainment program, that is strengthened in various entertainment program of TV. The caption is a secondary language materials suggested for viewer"s understanding. Especially in entertainment program, player"s utterance is treated by caption wholly or partially, and it is helped viewer"s understanding or strengthened pleasure. So in this thesis, it is typed caption and is considered each type"s function and meaning. Therefore caption"s type is classified into language information management and situation information management. And its function is confirmation and clearness of utterance information, Inference and analysis of utterance information. Firstly in language information management caption, player"s utterance contents is divided into original text presentation and summary text presentation. The original text presentation is showed important part of utterance as it is. And summary text presentation is showed arrangement of player"s utterance shortly. The latter put up high effect of information transmission.
  A situation information management is divided into utterance situation description and utterance contents appraisal. The former is showed a player"s utterance by a letter or a mark. So that situation is stressed and conveyed. The latter is analyzed and appraised player"s utterance contents as a producer"s position.
  A caption"s function of entertainment program is confirmation function of utterance information and clearness function of utterance information, Inference function of utterance information , analysis function of utterance information. A confirmation function of utterance information is showed player"s utterance contents without addition and reduction, and is emphasized by eyesight. A clearness function of utterance information is showed spoken language information into arrangement shortly and clearly. Arrangement of player"s spoken language could conveyed utterance information effectively. A Inference function of utterance information is gathered and showed various facts of utterance contents. Namely as various situation of player"s conversation is showed a caption, so it is supplemented meaning of utterance contents. And analysis function of utterance information is that every information related to utterance contents and situation are appraised as a producer position. It could be coincided utterance contents and situation with making intention. And it is connected utterance and situation organically.
