국문 초록

연구목적: 이 연구의 목적은 교사와의 관계에서 좌절을 경험한 초등학생의 체험에 포함된 공통요인을 찾고, 이 과정에서의 심리적 과정을 발견하여 좌절 경험이 학생에게 미치는 영향을 탐색하는 데 있다. 연구방법: 이 연구에서는 교사와의 관계에서 좌절을 경험한 초등학생 15명의 연구참여자를 대상으로 체험분석 연구 절차에 따라 자료수집 및 분석을 진행하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 학생의 실수나 과제 수행 부족에 대한 교사의 감정적 반응이 아동의 좌절 경험으로 이어지는 경향을 확인하였다. 둘째, 교사의 공개적 비난과 조롱, 무시, 차별 등의 행동이 학생이 좌절과 관련이 있는 것으로 확인하였다. 셋째, 교사와의 관계에서 좌절 경험은 학생들에게 일차적으로 화, 슬픔, 수치심, 억울함을 느끼게 했고, 이후 우울과 불안, 괴로움, 위축 등의 심리적 불편감을 주기도 하였다. 넷째, 교사와의 관계에서 좌절 경험은 학생들에게 포기, 강박 등 행동적 측면에도 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 아동은 자신의 부족함에 대해 교사로부터 공감과 격려, 부드러운 표현, 모른 척해주기 등을 기대하였다. 논의 및 결론: 이 연구는 교사-학생 관계에서 학생이 좌절을 경험하는 심리적 과정을 세밀하게 탐색하였다는 점에서의 의의가 있다. 이 연구의 결과를 토대로 교사와 학생이 교육적인 관계를 형성하며 서로의 변화와 성장을 도울 수 있기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify common factors present in the experiences of elementary school students who have faced frustration in their relationships with teachers and to explore the psychological processes involved in these experiences in order to understand the impact of such frustration on the students. Method: This study conducted data collection and analysis following an experiential analysis research procedure with 15 elementary school students who had experienced frustration in their relationships with teachers. Results: First, it was found that teachers' emotional reactions to students' mistakes or insufficient task performance often led to students' experiences of frustration. Second, public criticism, ridicule, disregard, and discrimination by teachers were identified as behaviors related to students' frustration. Third, frustration in teacher-student relationships initially elicited feelings of anger, sadness, shame, and injustice in students, which subsequently led to psychological discomforts such as depression, anxiety, distress, and withdrawal. Fourth, frustration in teacher-student relationships also impacted students' behavioral responses, leading to behaviors such as giving up and compulsiveness. Fifth, students expected empathy, encouragement, gentle expressions, and pretending not to notice their shortcomings from teachers. Conclusion: This study is significant in that it meticulously explores the psychological processes of students experiencing frustration in teacher-student relationships. Based on the results of this study, it is hoped that teachers and students can form educational relationships that foster mutual growth and development.
