국문 초록

中國共産黨은 中華人民共和國建國 무렵부터, 중국의 혁명과 건설에 필요한 新 型知識分子를 양성하고자 했다. 그들은 蘇聯의 경험에 따라서 1949年부터 1956年 까지 여러 차례에 걸쳐 知識分子를 개조하기 위한 運動을 했다. 필자는 그 가운데에서 ‘政治敎育運動’과 ‘知識分子改造運動’의 전개 과정을 검토하고, 그것이 上海復 旦大學의 역사학자들을 대상으로 한 ‘知識分子改造運動’에서 역사학자들에게 어떤 영향을 주었는지 살펴보았다. 中國共産黨은 社會發展史에 근거해서 공산당정권 수립의 정당성을 역설했고, 階級鬪爭史에 입각해서 사회주의 국가건설에 인민들을 동원했다. 동시에 운동은 기존 지식인들을 혁명사상의 제조자이자 충실한 대변인으로 만들고, 새로운 知識分子들을 양성하기 위한 대학개편의 준비작업이었다. 그 과정에서 역사학자들은 강요된 자아비판으로 스스로 비하했고, 공개적인 대중비판과 여론에 의한 감정적 공격을 받으면서 지식인으로서의 독립정신을 상실했다. 대부분의 역사학자들은 자의반타의반으로 정권의 도구로 전락했다.

영문 초록

At the beginning of the founding of the people’s Republic of China, the Communist Party of China should cultivate new intellectuals needed for China’s revolutionary construction. Based on the experience of the Soviet Union, they carried out many movements to transform intellectuals from 1949 to 1956. The author studies the development process of the “political education movement” and the “intellectual transformation movement”, and investigates the influence of the “intellectual transformation movement” aimed at historians of Shanghai Fudan University on historians. According to the history of social development, the Communist Party of China has described the legitimacy of establishing the Communist Party’s political power, based on the history of class struggle, and mobilized the people to build a socialist country. At the same time, the movement is to make the existing intellectuals become the makers and loyal spokesmen of revolutionary thought, cultivate new intellectuals and prepare for the adaptation of universities. In this process, historians, through strong self-criticism and self devaluation, were attacked by public criticism and public opinion, and lost the independent spirit of intellectuals. Most historians have become tools of political power.
