국문 초록

연구목적: 이 연구는 유아교육에서 저출산 현상을 바라보는 다양한 관점과 논쟁을 만나고자, 연구참여자 간의 경험과 관점을 제공하며 아이디어를 교환하는 포커스 그룹 토론(FGD)을 통해 유아교육에 주는 함의를 탐색하고자 하였다. 연구방법: 이를 위해 FGD의 특성을 고려하여 본 연구주제에 관심이 있으며, 토론에 능동적으로 참여하여 연구주제와 관련된 의견을 개진하고 새로운 방향성을 함께 생성할 수 있는 유아교육 전문가 6인을 목적적 표집방법을 통해 선정했다. 2회의 FGD를 통해 자료를 수집하여 전사하고, 범주화, 재범주화와 해석의 과정을 거쳐 분석하였다. 연구결과: 여성 중심의 출산장려정책이라는 저출산의 지배담론을 해체하고, 윤리적이고 공동체적 차원에서 저출산 현상을 바라볼 관점 전환이 제기되었으며, 이는 ‘저출산, 문제에서 현상으로’, ‘위기에서 진화로’, ‘보호의 돌봄에서 윤리적 돌봄으로’ 범주화되었다. 논의 및 결론: 이 연구는 저출산이 위기나 문제가 아니라 유아교육에 대한 본질적이고 근원적인 질문인 아동의 건강하고 행복한 삶에 대한 성찰의 장을 만들고 있으며, 이를 통해 윤리적 돌봄과 유아교육의 관계를 새롭게 규명할 것을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to encounter various paradigms and debates on the low childbirth in early childhood education. In this study, the implications for early childhood education were explored through focus group discussion(FGD) in which the participants experiences, perspectives, and ideas were shared. Method: For this purpose, six early childhood education experts who were interested in this research topic, actively participated in the discussion, and were able to create a new direction together were selected through the purposeful sampling. Data were collected through two FGDs and analyzed through transcription, categorization, re-categorization, and interpretation. Results: It was discussed to deconstruct the dominant discourse of low childbirth, that is, the perspective of women centered on fertility. And, it was proposed to shift to a paradigm that considers the low childbirth based on ethical and community dimensions. The results of this study were categorized into “Low childbirth, problem to phenomenon”, “Crisis to evolution”, and “Protective care to ethical care”. Conclusion: This study suggested that the low childbirth is not a crisis or problem, but new reflection on the healthy and happy life of children. In addition, it was proposed to explore the relationship between ethical care and early childhood education.
