관심중심수용모형(CBAM)에 기반한 A 대학 교수들의 PBL에 대한 관심도 분석

국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구에서는 관심중심수용모형을 개념적 틀로 선정하고 PBL이 대학 교수들에게 어떻게 받아들여지고 있는지 분석하여 PBL 확산을 위한 시사점을 제시하고자 하였다. 연구방법: 관심단계 설문지를 활용하여 A 대학 교수를 대상으로 설문을 실시하고, t-test, ANOVA, Χ2를 실시하였다. 연구결과: A 대학 교수들은 PBL에 대해 일반적으로 인식을 하고 있으나 PBL 도입에 따른 업무 변화나 도입 효과에는 관심이 미치지 못한 초보적인 사용자의 인식패턴을 보였다. PBL에 대한 관심도는 높았으나 교수법과 관련한 동료교수들과의 협력에는 관심도가 낮았고, 대안에 대한 관심도는 높았다. 또한 혁신에 저항을 의미하는 꼬리 올리기 현상을 발견하였다. 이는 PBL의 세부 운영 절차나 효과에 대한 관심도가 낮아서 PBL의 직접 운영에 대한 관심 단계까지 혁신을 받아들이지 못하고 PBL 이외의 대안적인 교수법에 관심이 있음을 의미한다. 게다가 PBL에 대한 관심 단계는 교육경력, 전공계열, 관심단계 유형, PBL 적용 경험에 따라 상대적 강도에 차이가 존재하였다. 논의 및 결론: 본 연구 결과 PBL이 도입된 지 15년이 되었지만, 약 40%가량의 교수들만 PBL을 능숙하게 사용하고, 나머지는 초보적인 사용자나 비사용자에 머물러 있었다. 따라서 PBL을 능숙하게 사용하는 교수들을 대상으로는 PBL의 변형 적용이나 대안적 교수방법에 대한 안내를 제공하고, 초보적 사용자에게는 PBL 운영에 필요한 구체적인 정보 제공, PBL 비사용자에게는 PBL의 특성, 효과, 실천에 요구되는 사항을 안내하는 맞춤형 지원이 필요하다. 또한 PBL을 확산하기 위해서는 교육경력, 전공계열, 관심단계 유형, PBL 적용 경험에 따라 관심의 상대적 강도에 차이가 존재하였으므로 교수자의 개인적 특성에 따라 맞춤형 정보를 제공하길 제안하였다.

영문 초록

Purpose: In this study, I analyzed how PBL was being accepted by university professors and suggested implications for the spread of PBL based on CBAM(Concerns-Based Adoption Model). Method: A questionnaire was carried out targeting professors of A university using the Stage of Concern Questionnaire: SoCQ), and t-test, ANOVA, and X2 were conducted. Results: The Level of Concerns of professors of A university showed inexperienced user recognition pattern, which has a general awareness of PBL. However, they did not have any interest in task changes or the effects of PBL introduction. Although the interest in PBL was high, their interest in collaboration with fellow professors related to teaching methods was low, but the interest in alternatives was high. Furthermore, a tailing up phenomenon was observed and there was resistance to innovation. This meant that they could not accept innovation up to the stage of interest in direct operation of PBL and took a interest in alternative teaching methods other than PBL due to the low interest in detailed operation procedures or effects of PBL. In addition, the level of interest in PBL differed in relative intensity ccording to educational experience, major, type of interest level, and PBL application experience. Conclusion: It has been 15 years since PBL was introduced, but only about 40% of professors used PBL proficiently, and the rest still remained novice users or non-users. Therefore, customized support is needed according to the Stage of Concern profile: 1) the guidance on the application of variations of PBL or alternative teaching methods should be provided to the professors who are proficient in using PBL, 2) the specific information that is necessary for PBL operation is needed to novice users, 3) the customized support to guide the characteristics, effects, and requirements of PBL should be provided to nonuser. In conclusion, it is suggested that customized support according to the characteristics of the instructor should be provided due to the differences in the relative intensity of interest depending on educational experience, major, type of interest level, and PBL application experience.
