청소년의 부모-자녀 갈등경험과 공격성의 관계에서 용서의 매개효과

국문 초록

이 연구는 고등학교 남학생들의 부모-자녀 갈등경험과 공격성 간의 관계에서 용서의 매개효과를 검증한 것이다. 특히 부갈등과 모갈등을 구분하여 부모 성별에 따른 갈등경험과 공격성, 용서와의 관계를 살펴보았다. 연구 대상자는 G시 남자고등학교 1학년 9개 학급 271명이었다. 연구결과, 부모-자녀 간 갈등경험과 공격성 간의 관계는 서로 정적인 상관이 있었고, 갈등경험과 용서, 용서와 공격성 간에는 부적인 상관관계가 성립하였다. 용서는 부갈등과 공격성 간의 관계를 완전매개하였고, 모갈등과 공격성 간의 관계는 매개하지 않았다. 이는 아버지와의 갈등수준이 있는 남학생들의 용서수준이 높을수록 공격성이 낮아진다는 것을 의미한다. 비록 모갈등과 공격성 간의 관계에서 용서의 매개효과는 나타나지 않았지만, 부갈등과 모갈등은 높은 상관이 있는 것으로 나타나 모갈등이 부갈등을 통해 용서, 공격성과 관련이 있을 수 있음을 시사하였다. 마지막으로 이 연구의 시사점과 제한점에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the mediating effect of forgiveness on the relation between parent-child conflict and aggression with a sample of male high school students. Specifically, parent-child conflict was distinguished on the basis of parent’ gender (father-son conflict and mother-son conflict). Participants were male first-year high school students and asked to complete a survey packet in class. A total of 271 completed surveys were analyzed. Correlation analysis revealed that both father-son conflict and mother-son conflict was positively related to aggression, but negatively related to forgiveness. In addition, forgiveness was negatively associated with aggression. The structural equation modeling results indicated that forgiveness fully mediated the relation between father-son conflict and aggression, but did not mediate the relation between mother-son conflict and aggression despite a strong correlation between mother-son conflict and father-son conflict. These results implied that forgiving their parents would assist male high students who experience conflict with father in reducing their aggression. Furthermore, implications and limitations of this study were discussed.
