수업 비평 이야기: 미술 감상 수업을 보는 다양한 관점

국문 초록

교사의 수업 전문성 향상을 위해 수업 공개와 더불어 수업 컨설팅, 수업 협의회, 수업 장학 등의 이름으로 수업에 대한 논의가 이루어지고 있지만 피상적인 논의에 그치는 경우가 많아 그 실효성에 회의적이다. 그 대안으로 교사공동체를 통한 수업 비평이 연구되며 실행되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 교수역량을 향상시키기 위한 방안으로 미술 감상 수업 비평을 통해 감상 수업을 보는 다양한 관점들에 대한 논의를 해보는데 있다. 본 연구에서는 우선 수업 비평의 개념을 심화하고, 수업 비평의 다양한 관점에 대한 선행연구를 분석하여 미술 감상 수업에의 적용 가능성을 검토한다. 이어서 예비교사, 교사, 연구자의 미술 감상 수업 비평에 반영된 비평 관점을 질적으로 비교, 분석하며 논의한다. 수업 비평자들의 비평 관점은 ‘수업의 일반적인 형식과 흐름이 잘 구성된 수업인가’(수업의 과학성) 혹은 ‘미술 감상 수업의 특성이 드러난 수업인가’(수업의 예술성)과 같이 대조적인 비평 관점들 사이의 어느 특정 지점에 위치하는 것을 발견하였으며, 이렇게 발견한 비평 관점을 일곱 가지로 정리하여 어떻게 적용되고 있는지 기술, 분석, 해석하였다. 또한 이에 근거하여 미술 감상 수업을 위한 적절하고 다양한 비평 관점을 도출해본다. 이 연구를 통해 수업 비평이 교사의 미술 감상 수업의 질을 높일 수 있는 효과적인 방안이며, 이 때 감상 수업을 보는 여러 관점들에 대한 이해와 적용이 전제될 때 더욱 큰 기대 효과가 있을 것이라는 것을 확인하였다.

영문 초록

Teaching classes have been discussed to improve the teachers’ instructional professionalism, such as open class, class consulting, class council, class supervision etc. However, the discussion’s efficiency is questionable because of the superficial discussion of the class. Class criticism for the teacher’s community has been studied and conducted as an alternative to the superficial discussion of class. This study aims at discussing various viewpoints of art appreciation classes by sharing criticisms of them, as a way to improve teachers’ art instructional competencies. Firstly, this research is meant to deepen the concept and discussion of the class criticism and examine the possibility of applying previous research about the various points of view of class criticism to art appreciation classes by analyzing the previous research. Next, this research compares, analyzes, and discusses points of view of class criticism which apply to preliminary-teachers’/teachers’/researcher’s criticism of art appreciation classes. The research discovers that the viewpoints of the class critics lies somewhere between the contrasting perspectives, such as those centered on the general structures and procedures of the class - i.e. the scientific dimension of the class - and those focused on the unique characteristics of an appreciation class - i.e. the artistic dimension of the class. There are seven viewpoints that are discovered, which are explained in the paper. Based on these results, this research derives proper and various viewpoints of art appreciation class criticism. This research is meant to investigate why class criticism is the effective solution at this moment by bringing more expected effects when the understanding and applying of the various points of view of class criticism to art appreciation class is premised.
