예비유아교사의 자존감, 자기가치감 및 사회적 문제해결력 간의 관계

국문 초록

본 연구는 예비유아교사의 자존감과 자기가치감, 사회적 문제해결기술이 어떠하며, 자기가치감과 자존감의 관계 및 자존감과 사회적 문제해결기술 간의 관계를 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 위해 충남, 세종, 대전의 5개 4년제 유아교육과 학생 총 489명이 연구대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며 수집된 자료는 세 변인 간 상관과 단계적 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 자존감과 자기가치감은 보통 이상이었으며, 사회적 문제해결기술은 보통 수준이었다. 둘째, 자존감과 자기가치감 간에는 정적 상관이 있었으며, 자존감에 대한 자기가치감의 하위 척도의 영향력으로는 가족의 지지, 학업 성취는 정적 예측 관계이고 타인의 승인과 외모는 부적 예측 관계가 있었다. 셋째, 사회적 문제해결기술과 자존감 간에는 정적 상관이 있었으며, 사회적 문제해결기술에 대한 자존감의 하위 척도의 영향력으로는 자기결정‧주장과 관계 속 자기가 정적 예측 관계가 있었다. 따라서 예비유아교사들의 학업 성취를 높이고 다른 사람과 더불어 협력하며 자기 주장 및 결정의 기회를 다수 경험하여 사회적 문제해결기술을 높일 수 있는 교원양성교육을 모색하여야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine early childhood pre-service teachers’ self-worth, self-esteem and their social problem-solving skills and explore the relationship between their self-worth and self-esteem and the relationship between their self-esteem and social problem-solving skills. To this end, a total of 489 students from 5 four-year early childhood teacher education programs in Chungnam, Sejong, and Daejeon were surveyed. The collected data were analyzed by correlation among the three variables and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results of this study were as the following: First, the level of self-esteem and self-worth were above the average and social problem-solving skills were moderate. Second, there was a positive correlation between self-esteem and self-worth. The predictive factors that positively affect the subscale of self-worth on self-esteem were family support and academic achievement whereas the negative predictive factors were others’ approvals and respondents’ physical appearance. Third, there was a positive correlation between social problem solving skills and self-esteem. As a subscale of self-esteem on social problem solving techniques, self-determination and assertion had a positive, predictive association. Therefore, it is necessary to develop early childhood teacher training programs that can help teachers increase their senses of academic achievement, cooperate with others, and enhance their social problem-solving skills by experiencing various opportunities to assert and make decisions their selves.
