포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 통해 본 지역사회 세대 간 교류에 대한 유아교육 전문가의 인식

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 세대 간 교류에 대한 유아교육전문가의 인식을 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 통해 알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 유아교육 전문가 포커스 집단 면담을 통하여 이들이 인식하는 세대 간 교류의 필요성과 세대 간 교류를 활성화하는 방안들을 살펴보는 것이다. 연구 참여자는 D시에 소재한 유아교육기관 및 대학에서 재직 중인 유아교육 전문가 10명이며, 자료 수집을 위해 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 활용하였다. 연구 결과를 살펴보면 첫째, 유아교육 전문가들은 세대 간 교류의 필요성을 “다른 사람들과의 교류 부족, 세대 간 편견 해소와 공감대 형성, 세대 간 교류에 대한 기대” 측면에서 제시하였다. 둘째, 세대 간 교류의 장애 요인이 되는 사회 문화적인 현상에 대해서는 “교류에 대한 관심 부족, 개인주의 성향, 부모 이기주의, 감각적 자극 추구 문화, 아동학대에 대한 불안감”등을 지적하였다. 셋째, 세대 간 교류의 적절한 방안에 대해서는 “세대교류 범위의 확대, 세대간 교류 방법의 확대” 에 대해 제안을 하였다. 본 연구의 결과들과 논의는 앞으로 지역사회적 관점에서의 세대 간 교류에 대한 인식의 환기와 세대 간 프로그램의 개발과 실행의 범위를 확대하는데 기여할 것이라고 기대한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine early childhood professionals’ perceptions of the necessity of intergenerational interactions and the ways to promote the interactions among generations. In this study, the focus group interviews were conducted with 10 early childhood experts from early childhood institutions and universities in D city. The collected data showed that early childhood education experts emphasized the necessity of intergenerational interactions in terms of the “overall lack of interaction with other people, the resolution of prejudices between generations through sharing empathy, and intergenerational expectations”. Second, “a lack of interest regarding social interactions, individualist tendencies, parental egoism, a culture of pursuit of stimuli, and anxiety about child abuse” were presented as socio-cultural obstacles to intergenerational interactions. Third, appropriate methods to improve intergenerational interactions were presented in terms of the expansion of the scope and methods of general interaction. The results of this study provide with opportunities to rethink of the improtance of intergenerational interactions from a community perspective and expand the scope of the development and implementation of intergenerational programs.
