국문 초록

본 연구는 자발적으로 이혼을 선택한 여성 한부모의 행복경험을 연구함으로써 한부모에 대한 이해를 높이고, 한부모와 한부모 가족을 돕는 실질적이고 효과적인 방안을 모색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위한 연구문제는 이혼을 선택한 여성 한부모의 행복경험 과정은 어떠한가이다. 자발적으로 이혼을 선택한 여성 한부모가 시간의 경과 후 경험하게 되는 행복으로의 변화과정을 연구하고자 Strauss와 Corbin(1998)의 근거이론 접근을 활용하여 총 8명의 대상을 선정하였다. 심층면접을 통해 얻은 자료를 개방코딩, 축코딩, 선택코딩에 따라 분석하였다. 연구결과 개방코딩에서 163개의 개념과 42개의 하위범주, 15개의 범주가 도출되었다. 축코딩에서 패러다임에 의한 범주분석 결과 이혼을 선택한 여성 한부모의 행복경험 과정은 ‘한부모 됨을 수용’, ‘긍정적 자기상의 재구성’, ‘한부모로의 삶을 재결단’, ‘기능적 삶을 실천하기’, ‘삶속에서 행복 경험하기’로 파악되었다. 선택코딩에서 핵심범주는 ‘한부모의 삶을 선택하고 수용하며 살아내는 과정에서 주체적 행복경험하기’로 나타났으며, 핵심범주를 중심으로 지속적으로 나타나는 범주들 간에 있을 수 있는 관련성을 확인한 결과 이혼을 선택한 여성 한부모의 행복경험 유형은 ‘의미추구형’, ‘관계지향형’, ‘자기개발형’으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the research was to better understand the experience of happiness among single parent females. By creating a substantive theory through this research of female single parents who actively chose to divorce their partners, the aim was to identify effective and practical measures to assist both single parents and single parent families. The subject of inquiry: What is the process for experiencing happiness for single parent women who chose divorce? Grounded theory approach of Strauss and Corbinb (1998) was applied in order to research the change process of happiness experienced after a single parent female chose to divorce. Eight participants in total were selected and the major method of data collection was in-depth interview. Data analysis was conducted via open coding, axial coding, and selective coding at the time of data collection. As a result, 163 concepts, 42 subcategories, and 15 categories were derived from the open coding. Axial coding identified the process of happiness as ‘acceptance of single parent status’, ‘reconstruction of positive self’, ‘redefinition of life as single parent’, ‘practice functional life’, and ‘experience of happiness’. The core category of selective coding appeared to be ‘experiencing independent happiness in the process of selecting and accepting life as a single parent’. As a result of identifying the possible relevance among the categories which consistently appeared based on the core category, the categories of happiness experience of female single parents who chose divorce were ‘meaning pursuit type’, ‘relationship-oriented type’, and ‘self-development type’.
