완벽주의 성향의 2×2 모형과 대학생의 심리사회적 적응

국문 초록

완벽주의 성향의 2×2 모형(Gaudreau & Thompson, 2010)은 개인기준 완벽주의와 평가염려 완벽주의의 수준에 따라 4가지 하위유형으로 구분하는 이론적 틀이다. 본 연구는 2×2 모형에서 제안한 4가지 하위유형이 적절한지와 하위유형별로 대학생의 적응지표에서 유의미한 차이가 있는지를 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 370명의 대학생을 대상으로 개인기준 및 평가염려 완벽주의, 학업 및 사회적응, 심리적 안녕감을 측정하였다. 군집분석 결과, 비완벽주의, 순수 평가염려 완벽주의, 순수 개인기준 완벽주의, 혼합 완벽주의의 4가지 완벽주의 하위유형으로 분류되었다. 네 집단 간의 적응지표에서는 (1) 순수 개인기준 완벽주의가 비완벽주의보다 유의하게 더 높은 수준의 학업적응을 나타냈으나, 심리적 안녕감과 사회적응에서는 유의한 차이가 없었고, (2) 순수 평가염려 완벽주의가 비완벽주의보다 더 낮은 수준의 사회적응, 심리적 안녕감을 나타냈으나, 학업적응에서는 유의한 차이가 없었으며, (3) 혼합 완벽주의가 순수 개인기준 완벽주의보다 더 낮은 수준의 학업적응, 사회적응, 심리적 안녕감을 나타냈다. 끝으로 본 연구의 의의를 논의하였다.

영문 초록

A 2×2 model of dispositional perfectionism(Gaudreau & Thompson, 2010) is a theoretical framework that posits the 4 within-person combinations of Evaluative concerns and Personal standards perfectionism. The purpose of this study was to identify the possible existence of four subtypes of perfectionism proposed by a 2×2 model and to examine whether the levels of adaptive-indices differ by the perfectionism subtypes. 370 college students were asked to complete the self-report measurements. The results of cluster analysis identified four differential groups of perfectionism similar to the subtypes defined by the 2×2 model: Non-Perfectionism(NP), Pure Personal Standards Perfectionism(P-PSP), Pure Evaluative Concerns Perfectionism(P-ECP), and Mixed Perfectionism(MP). These different subtypes of perfectionism were distinguished in terms of adaptive-indices. First, it was shown that P-PSP was significantly higher on academic adjustment than NP, but not on social adjustment and psychological well-being. Second, P-ECP was significantly lower on social adjustment and psychological well-being than NP, but not on academic adjustment. Third, MP was significantly lower on total adaptive-indices than P-PSP. Implications are discussed.
