중학교 과학 생명 영역의 과학 글쓰기를 활용한 과학적 사고력 평가 도구 개발

국문 초록

이 연구에서는 중학교 생명 영역에 대하여 과학 글쓰기를 활용한 과학적 사고력 평가 도구 6개를 개발하였다. 이를 위해 평가 도구의 초안을 개발한 뒤에 생물교육 전공자들의 검토와 중학생들 대상의 예비 적용 결과를 반영하여 수정․보완하였다. 평가 도구의 주제는 ‘광합성’, ‘신장’, ‘뇌사와 식물인간’, ‘쌍둥이’, ‘백호’, ‘바나나’이다. 평가 도구는 검사지, 예시 답안, 평가 기준으로 구성되어 있다. 각 검사지는 제시글과 4개 문항으로 구성되는데, 각 문항은 귀납적, 연역적, 비판적, 창의적 사고력을 요구한다. 예시 답안은 과학적 사고력을 고려하여 작성하였다. 귀납적, 연역적 사고력을 요구하는 문항의 예시 답안은 결론, 근거, 설명을 포함하여 작성하였다. 비판적 사고력을 요구하는 문항의 경우 주장, 근거, 설명, 부연, 반증으로 구성하였고, 창의적 사고력을 요구하는 문항의 경우 유창성, 융통성, 독창성, 정교성 측면을 고려하였다. 평가 기준은 이정은과 정은영(2013a)의 루브릭을 활용하였는데, 평가 준거의 수행 수준에 대한 구체적인 사항을 변경하여 적용하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 평가 도구는 학생들의 과학적 사고력의 수준을 점검하거나 과학 글쓰기의 효과를 파악하는 데 활용할 수 있다.

영문 초록

In this study, 6 evaluation instruments for scientific thinking ability using science writing in life area of middle school science were developed. In order to do this, the draft of the evaluation instruments were developed and revised after reviewing by biology education majors and the pilot test applied to middle school students. The topics of the evaluation instruments were ‘photosynthesis’, ‘kidney’, ‘brain death and person in a vegetative state’, ‘twin’, ‘white tiger’, and ‘banana’. The evaluation instrument consists of questionnaire, examplary answers, and evaluation standard. Each questionnaire was composed of presented text and 4 questions requiring scientific thinking ability. Each of the 4 questions consist of questions that required inductive, deductive, critical and creative thinking ability. The examplary answers were constructed in consideration of the scientific thinking ability. The examplary answers of the questions requiring inductive thinking ability and deductive thinking ability included data, claim, and explanation. In those of the questions requiring critical thinking ability, backing and rebuttal were added. The examplary answers of the questions requiring creative thinking ability were considered fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. Although the evaluation standard were based on the rubric of Lee & Jeong(2013a), the details of the performance level of the evaluation criteria were changed. The evaluation instruments developed in this study can be used to check the level of students scientific thinking ability or to investigate the effect of science writing.
