온라인 예술통합교육에서 유희적 측면의 활용 가능성

국문 초록

유희는 다른 어떤 목적을 위한 것이 아니라 그 자체로 재미와 흥미를 느낄 수 있는 자발적인 충동행위로서 예로부터 문화 및 예술 활동과 밀접하게 관련되어 왔다. 재미(fun)와 즐거움(amusement)과 같이 유희의 본질을 규정해주는 성질로서 ‘유희성(playfulness)’은 현대예술교육에서 학습자의 동기유발과 자발적인 학습참여를 이끌어내는 중요한 전략으로서 사용될 수 있다. 또한 유희성은 학생들에게 흥미로운 방식으로 그들의 상상력을 키워주며 창의적 사고에 바탕을 둔 예술적 표현을 유도하는데 중심 역할을 할 수 있다. 특히 다양한 예술 장르간의 통합과 융합이 활발해지고 에듀테인먼트(edutainment)로서의 예술교육에 대한 관심이 증가되는 최근의 예술교육 지형도 안에서, 유희성은 온라인 예술통합교육의 구심점으로서 기능할 수 있다고 본다.

영문 초록

This study has examined the potential for the use of playfulness in online arts education programs from the current perspective of integrated education. The study has added a contribution into arts education in terms of shedding a light on the value and possibility of playfulness in arts education. First, the study has reviewed the concept and role of play and playfulness in the domain of arts and education. Secondly, the research has discussed the value of playfulness in the current trend of arts education policies in Korea. Thirdly, the study has identified a case of online integrated arts education program adopting playfulness supported by Korea Arts & Culture Education Service, and has provided instructors' perceptions of the educational possibilities and effectiveness of adopting playfulness in the program. Finally, the study has suggested the need and potential for adopting playfulness in contemporary arts education.
