비판적 사고력 중심 미술감상비평활동이 고등학교 2학년 학생의 글쓰기와 감상능력에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

최근 교육 현장에서는 제 7차 교육과정의 두 번째 교육목표인 “학문과 생활에 필요한 논리적, 비판적, 창의적 사고력과 태도를 익힌다”(1997, 교육부)를 반영하기 위한 여러 변화들이 있었다. 학교에서는 창의적이고 논리적인 사고능력의 배양을 중시하고있고, 교과간의 통합적 사고를 유도하는 한편 대학 입시에서는 논술이 중요한 변수로 등장한 것이 그것이다. 이러한 변화는 1983년 미국에서 “위기에 처한 국가”라는 연구보고서를 발간하면서 공교육에 비판적 사고가 본격적으로 접목되면서부터 시작되었다(철학연구회, 2002: 1). 기존의 지식 암기 위주의 수렴적 사고만으로는 21세기를 해쳐나갈 수 있는 능력이 부족하다고 판단한 것이다. 우리나라에서도 제7차 미술과 교육과정의 내용체계가 미적체험, 표현, 감상으로 구성되어있는 것도 같은 맥락이라고 할 수 있다. 특히, 감상영역은 학습자들이 미술비평활동을 함으로써 비판적 사고능력을 키우고 그들 생활 속에서 객관적으로 대처하며 살아갈 수 있는 능력의 향상을 가져올 수 있는 기회를 제공한다는 점에 주안점을 두고 있다(2000, 교육부).

영문 초록

If perception of art is still remaining in drawing and only thought about taking expression-centered class then putting writing to practical use as art appreciative critique activity might be rather unfamiliar. However, Naoe Toshio ran a research for 2 years to realize how language could play a role in art class in high school and finally stated that he is admitting the fact that art appreciative critique activity is significant not only to art appreciative learning but also to independent attitude and developing quality of making works of art. That is in foreign countries writing activity was already carried out like expression activity. This research ran experiment in Sanbon city, Gyeonggi Province to current 11th grade 60 high school students dividing into 2 groups one with no application of critical-centered thinking program and the other with application. According to the research one group which had art critique activities of critical-centered thinking elevated their art appreciation and writing skills than that of non-programed group. Thus we found out that critical-centered thinking ability of art-critique activitynot only enhanced learners'appreciation but also writing ability. Except, learners' participated in experiment are limited numbers in Gyeonggi Province so we have a challenge to generalization this. On the other hand this result implies that each high school can actively utilize this program with critical thinking ability regarding recent situation which essay writing is considered critical.
