국문 초록

15세기 후반에 강희맹이 편찬한 『금양잡록』은 사찬농서의 등장을 알려주는 농서이다. 강희맹과 노농의 문답이라는 형식을 통해 당대 농사기술의 일반적인 원리, 농리(農理)를 소개하면서 동시에 금양지역에서 활용하던 농업기술의 성격을 보여주고 있다. 강희맹이 『금양잡록』을 편찬하게 된 배경으로 가학(家學)의 영향이 작용하였을 뿐만 아니라 강희맹 자신이 농업기술에 대해 서 깊은 관심을 가지고 금양 지역의 노농(老農)과 긴밀한 교류를 하고 있었고, 나아가 직접 농사짓기에 나섰다는 점에서 찾을 수 있다. 『금양잡록』 본문의 주요 내용은 강희맹과 금양지역 노농(老農) 사이의 문답 형식으로 정리되어 있는데, 금양에 살고 있던 노농은 농사전문가로서 한편으로 당대 조선 팔도에서 통용될 수 있는 일반적인 농사짓는 법, 농법의 일반 원리, 다시 말해서 체계적인 당시 축적 확보한 농리(農理)에 관련된 내용을 소개하고 있다. 그것은 명농(明農)을 지향하는 것이었는데, 천시(天時)와지리(地利)에 맞추어 경종(耕種)의 조만(早晩), 서운(鋤耘)의 소삭(疏數)을 잘 수행하는 상농(上農)을 높게 평가하면서, 바람과 토양과 곡물 생장의 상호 관계에 대하여 깊이 이해할 것을 요구하는 것이었다. 구체적으로 깊게 갈기(深耕)‚ 빨리 파종하기(早種)‚ 씨앗 많이 뿌리기(密播)‚ 자주 김매기(數耘) 등을 수행해야 한다고 강조하였다. 그리고 바로 금양(衿陽) 지역의 기후, 토질 등에 적합한 지역 농법으로 수도(水稻) 경종법을 정리하여 소개하고 있다. 그것은 조종(早種)과 수경건종(水耕乾種)이라는 특징을 갖고 있는 일종의 수경직파법(水耕直播法)이었다. 여기에 세밀한 물관리 기술, 완벽한 제초 작업이 병행되는 방식이었다. 『금양잡록』을 지은 강희맹은 비록 스스로 노농이라고 자칭(自稱)하지는 않고 있지만, 농법의 기본 원리, 농리의 요체를 추구하면서 동시에 금양 지역의 농사 관행, 농법을 정리하고 있다는 점에서 노농(老農)의 칭호를 부여하여도 무방하지 않을까 생각된다. 강희맹은 사환(仕宦)에서 물러나 금양에 퇴거하면서 명농(明農)을 지향하는 사(士)의 입장에서 『금양잡록』을 지은 것으로 보인다.

영문 초록

GeumyangJaprok, compiled by Kang Hui-maeng in the late 15th century, is a agricultural manual that informs the emergence of agricultural manual compiled by an individual. Through the format of a question and answer between Kang Hui-maeng and the an old farmer, it introduces the general principles of agricultural technology of the time, while at the same time showing the nature of the agricultural technology used in the Geumyang region. Not only did the influence of family learning play a role in the background of Kang Hui-maeng's compilation of GeumyangJaprok, but Kang Hui-maeng himself had a deep interest in agricultural technology and was in close exchange with an old farmer in the Geumyang region. It can be found in the fact that he started farming himself. It introduces general farming methods and general principles of farming that could be used in the eight provinces of Joseon at the time, in other words, contents related to the agricultural principles accumulated and secured at the time. Specifically, it was emphasized that deep plowing, early sowing, sowing a lot of seeds, and frequent weeding should be carried out. In addition, the water-based seeding method is summarized and introduced as a local farming method suitable for the climate and soil quality of the Geumyang region. It was a type of water-based direct-seeding method that had characteristics of the early-season and water-based types. This was a method that combined detailed water management technology and perfect weeding work. Although Kang Hui-maeng, who wrote GeumyangJaprok, does not call himself an old farmer, he pursues the basic principles of farming methods and the essentials of farming while at the same time organizing the farming practices and methods of the Geumyang region. I think it would be okay to give him a title, an old farmer. Kang Hui-maeng had written GeumyangJaperok from the perspective of a scholar who aimed to become a famous farmer after resigning from his position as a servant and moving to Geumyang.
