국문 초록

본 연구는 2022 개정교육과정의 사회과 내 지리 과목에서 다루고 있는 독도에 대한 기술을 2015 개정교육과정과 비교 분석한 것이다. 독도에 대한 학습 내용이 교육과정에 기술된 지리 과목은 2015 개정교육과정에서는 한국지리, 2022 개정교육과정에서는 한국지리탐구였다. 2015 개정교육과정에서 일반선택 과목인 한국지리에서는 ‘국토 인식과 지리 정보’에서, 2022 개정교육과정에서 진로선택 과목인 한국지리탐구에서는 ‘동아시아의 갈등과 공존 탐구’에서 독도 교육이 이루어졌다. 두 교육과정 모두 내용 요소에서‘독도’라는 용어를 제시하지 않았지만, 영토 전반에 대한 기술을 하였고, 한국지리에서는 성취기준과 해설에서, 한국지리탐구에서는 성취기준 적용 시 고려 사항에 구체적으로 기술하였다. 다만 한국지리에서는 영토 문제 내에서 독도의 성취 기준이 제시되어 있고, 한국지리탐구에서는 ‘독도와 동해 지명과 관련된 일본과의 영역 갈등’으로 기술하고 있어 이에 대한 개선이 필요하다.

영문 초록

This study compares and analyzes the descriptions of Dokdo in the geography subject of the 2022 revised curriculum with those in the 2015 revised curriculum. In the 2015 revised curriculum, the geography subject that covered Dokdo was “Korean Geography”, while in the 2022 revised curriculum, it is “Exploration of Korean Geography”. In the 2015 curriculum, Dokdo education was included under “National Land Recognition and Geographic Information” in the general elective subject “Korean Geography”. In contrast, in the 2022 curriculum, it is included under “Exploration of Conflicts and Coexistence in East Asia” in the career elective subject “Exploration of Korean Geography”. Neither curriculum explicitly mentions the term “Dokdo” in the content elements, but they do include descriptions of territorial issues in general. The 2015 curriculum provides specific details in the achievement standards and explanations in “Korean Geography”, while the 2022 curriculum addresses it in the considerations for applying the achievement standards in “Exploration of Korean Geography”. However, in “Korean Geography”, the achievement standards related to Dokdo are presented within the context of territorial issues, whereas in “Exploration of Korean Geography”, it is described as “territorial conflicts with Japan related to Dokdo and the name of the East Sea”, indicating the need for improvement in this regard.
