국문 초록

본 연구는 스웨덴에서 처음 등장한 페미니스트 외교정책(Feminist Foreign Policy)이 유럽 주요 국가들로 확산되어온 과정을 체계적으로 이해하기 위하여, 최근 유럽통합이론에서 발전해온 유럽화(Europeanisation)와 차별화된 통합(Differentiated Integration)에 대한 이론적 논의가 결합된 차별화된 유럽화(Differentiated Europeanisation)라는 틀로 이를 분석한다. 본 연구는 이를 위해 우선 연구대상인 페미니스트 외교정책의 정의와 역사를 살펴본 뒤에, 주요 분석틀인 차별화된 유럽화에 대한 이론적 발전과 특징을 논의한다. 그리고 이를 바탕으로 스웨덴에서 시작하여 유럽 주요 국가들로 페미니스트 외교정책이 확산되는 과정들을 차별화된 유럽화라는 이론적 틀에 기반해 분석한다. 이를 통해 본 연구는 페미니스트 외교정책이 유럽 주요 국가들에 따라 상이한 양태로 확산되어온 현상을 이론적으로 이해하고, 유럽통합이라는 특수한 역사적 배경 위에서 발전해온 중범위이론 성격의 통합이론의 유용성을 재확인해보고자 한다.

영문 초록

In order to gain a comprehensive understanding of the process by which feminist foreign policy from Sweden has diffused to other major European countries, this study employs the framework of differentiated Europeanisation. This approach combines the theoretical discussions on Europeanisation and differentiated integration that have been developed in recent years in European integration theory. To this end, the study first examines the definition and history of feminist foreign policy, and then discusses the theoretical development and features of the main analytical framework, differentiated Europeanisation. The processes of the diffusion of feminist foreign policy from Sweden to other major European countries are analysed using the theoretical framework of differentiated Europeanisation. This study aims to provide a theoretical understanding of the phenomenon of the diffusion of feminist foreign policy in different forms in major European countries and to reaffirm the usefulness of integration theory as a middle-range theory that has been developed in the sui-generis historical context of European integration.
