청대 전·중기 은전비가(銀錢比價)와 물가 변동 - 건륭 시기를 중심으로

국문 초록

청대 전·중기 洋銀의 유입은 상품 경제의 발전과 경제 변동에 직접적인 영향을 주었다. 나아가 洋銀이 중국 내륙에서도 직접 유통되고, 중국의 대외 무역 상인들이 양은과 중국 紋銀 사이의 교환 비율을 책정한 것은 중국이 당시 세계 은본위제의 백은 유통망에 깊이 편입되었음을 의미한다. 건륭 시기 대규모 주전의 목적은 명확했다. 대외무역에서 나오는 막대한 양은을 바탕으로 制錢 공급을 늘려 은전비가의 균형과 銀錢二元制의 원활한 운영을 통해 민생 안정을 도모하는 데 있었다. 양은의 유입으로 인한 건륭 시기의 인플레이션은 청대 전·중기 경제의 가장 큰 특징으로, 다른 전통 사회에서는 찾기 힘든 사회·경제의 새로운 모습을 보여준다는 점에서 의미가 있다.

영문 초록

The influx of foreign silver during the early and mid-Qing period directly influenced the development of commodity economics and economic fluctuations. Furthermore, the fact that foreign silver directly circulated in China’s inland regions and that Chinese foreign trade merchants established exchange rates between foreign silver and Chinese Wen silver signified that China was deeply integrated into the global silver-based monetary circulation network of that time. The purpose of large-scale currency minting during the Qianlong period was clear. It aimed to promote people’s livelihood stability by increasing the supply of currency notes based on the massive foreign silver obtained from international trade, thereby maintaining the balance between silver and copper coins and ensuring the smooth operation of the silver-copper coin dual system. The inflation caused by foreign silver influx during the Qianlong period is the most significant characteristic of early and mid-Qing economic history. It is particularly meaningful because it demonstrates a novel socio-economic landscape rarely found in other traditional societies.
