殯의 관점으로 본 대가야 궁성지 내부 시설의 성격

국문 초록

고령 대가야 궁성지의 성격에 주목하여 내부에서 殯이 행해졌고, 殯殿이 설치되었을 가능성에 대해서 살펴보았다. 그 근거로는 최근 殯殿의 입지에 관한 새로운 논의가 계속되는 것에 주목하면서 殯의 본래 목적과성격, 殯葬의 실제 기간과 접근성 등을 고려하면 殯殿의 위치는 고분군이나 구릉 정상부가 아닌 궁성이 적합하다는 점에 착안하였다. 이에 대가야 궁성지에서 확인된 고고학적 현상을 근거로 이와 유사한 백제지역의 벽주건물과 부뚜막이설치된 대형 주거지의 사례를 비교하였고, 6세기 이후 백제와 대가야 지배층의 긴밀한 관계를 토대로 백제계문물의 적극적인 수용과 함께 상장의례까지 대가야 지배층 내부로 유입되었을 것으로 보았다. 결과적으로벽주건물을 부속시설로 한 殯殿은 대가야 궁성 내부에 설치되었을 것으로 판단하였다. 향후에는 유교적 상장의례가 중국으로부터 한반도에 도입되면서 각국의 특징적 고분문화, 그리고 당시의정치⋅사회적 분위기를 반영하여 현지에서 변용되었을 가능성에 대한 비교고고학적 논의가 필요함을 강조하였다.

영문 초록

Focusing on the characteristics of the Daegaya palace site in Goryeong, we looked into the possibility that a mourning was held inside and a funeral hall was constructed. As a basis for this, attention was paid to the recent continuation of new discussions regarding the location of funeral hall. In addition, considering the original purpose and nature of mourning, the actual period and accessibility of the funeral, the location of the funeral was focused on the palace rather than a group of ancient tombs or the top of a hill. Accordingly, based on the archaeological phenomenon confirmed at the Daegaya Palace Site, similar cases of Pillar-wall Building and large residential areas with stoves in the Baekje region were compared. Based on the close relationship between Baekje and the Daegaya ruling class since the 6th century, it is believed that Baekje culture was actively accepted and even the funeral rituals was introduced into the Daegaya ruling class. As a result, it was determined that the funeral hall with the Pillar-wall Building as an attached facility was constructed inside Daegaya Palace. In the future, it was emphasized that comparative archaeological discussions are needed on the possibility that Confucian burial rites were introduced from China to the Korean Peninsula and were transformed locally by reflecting the characteristic tomb cultures of each country and the political and social atmosphere of the time.
