국문 초록

백제의 발전과정에서 요서진출 관련 사료의 성격과 그 의미하는 바를 밝히고, 남조가 백제 사신들에게 사여한 북조 지역의 직함이 어떠한 의미인지 살피고자 하였다. 그리고 당시의 요하유역으로부터의 이주민과 요하일대 백제인의 활약을 검토하고, 중국측 사서에 보이는 요하유역의 산물과 관련하여 백제의 대중 교통로의 개설과 고구려·백제의 대중 교역의 단편을 살피고자 하였다. 중국 사서에 보이는 요서지역의 백제군은 백제의 관위를 지닌 백제계 인물들이 낙랑·대방으로부터의 유이민과 부여·중국계의 유이민을 통섭하여 다스리던 자치군이었던 것으로 이해하였다. 곧 영가의 난 이후 낙랑·대방군이 요서지역에 이치되면서 백제인들이 녹산 지역에 거주하게 되었고, 그후 이들 백제인이 용성지역으로 옮겨 거주한 것으로 보았다. 이에 근구수왕대에 대능하 유역의 정치적 공백기에 자치군을 두었으며, 5세기 무렵 이들이 남조와의 교역 과정에서 중국 동해안 지역의 해상로 거점상에 집단거류지를 형성하면서 당시 백제와 남조를 내왕하던 백제사신들의 중간 기착지로 기능하였다. 북위와 백제간의 전투는 백제의 친남조 정책에 반발한 북위의 수륙 양면에 걸친 백제 본토에 대한 침략이었다. 이에 백제의 요서진출설은 백제의 활발한 해상력에 바탕한 것으로서, 후일 장보고 신라방의 前史로서 그 의의를 살필 수 있다고 본다.

영문 초록

This article aims to unearth the meanings of Baekje’s expansion to Liaoxi(遼西) related to historical records on the expansion to Liaoxi in the process of the development of Baekje and to determine what the title of Nothern Dynasty bestowed to envoys of Baekje by Southern dynasty means. Additionally, it aims to examine the activities of immigrants from Liaohe(遼河) area and Baekje people living in the area of Liaohe. At the same time, I will examine the establishment of trade route to China by Baekje and the trade of products of Liaohe area with China, Goguryeo and Baekje based on the Chinese historical records. As a result of the study, it is found out that the districts of Baekje in Liaoxi shown in the history books of China seem to be the self-governing districts by people from Baekje holding official ranks of Baekje, which consisted of wandering people from Lelang Commandery and Daifang Commandery ; and from Buyeo and China. That is, after the Disaster of Yongjia, Lelang commandery and Daifang commandery moved their locations to Liaoxi and Baekje people settled in Noksan in this area. Then these Baekje people moved to Longcheng area and settled down there due to the attack to Buyeo by Murong Jun in 346. Since then, autonomic districts had been established by them in the area of Dàlínghé in the reign of King Geungwisu. In around the 5th century, they established the common settlements along the east coast area of China in the process of the trade of Baekje with Southern Dynasty. These settlements played a role as a middle stopover for Baekje envoys to Southern dynasty. The battle between Northern Wei and Baekje resulted from this pro-Southern dynasty policy by Baekje. The theory of Baekje’s expansion to Liaoxi is based on the active naval power of Baekje and it has the meaning as the pre history of Sillabang established by Jangnogo after that.
