국문 초록

한국에서 AI 기술의 발전은 이세돌이 바둑에서 알파고에게 패배하면서 관심이증폭되었다. 2022년 Chat-GPT의 등장으로 인해 자연어, 즉 인간의 언어로 물어보고 그것을 답하는 형식의 AI가 등장했다. 이것은 AI가 일정하게 멀티모달이 가능한 것을 의미한다. 또한 텍스트기반의 프롬프트를 작성하면, 그것을 통해 이미지를 생성하는 이미지 생성형 AI의 등장은 창의적 영역이라 생각했던, 사진, 이미지, 디자인, 웹툰과 같은 이미지 예술 분야에 큰 충격을 일으키고 있다. 4차 산업혁명과 함께, 디지털화, 자동화, 인터넷 기술의 융합과 발전은 인공지능 분야, 로봇 기술, 사물인터넷, 블록체인, 가상현실, 3D프린팅 등을 핵심 기반으로 하고 있다. 그중 AI 분야는 그 성장 속도와 관심이 매우 높다. 초기에 혼란의 과정이 있겠지만, 이미지 생성형 AI는 사진, 미술, 디자인과 공존하게 될 것이다. 이러한 과정에서 기존에 이미지 분야 중 일정 부분은 AI에 대체되게 될 것으로 예상된다. 또한 사진+AI이미지, 디자인+AI디자인 등 기존 이미지와 AI의 결합으로 변모할 것이다. 그리고 새로운 사진, 새로운 미술, 새로운 디자인을 만들며 새로운 변화를 이끌게 될것이다. 다만 이러한 변화의 속도가 매우 빨라 현재 미래를 예측하는 것은 쉽지않다. 다만, 효율성, 융합이라는 키워드는 이 시장과 함께 할 것이다. 본 연구는 이미지 생성형 AI에 따른 실사 이미지 세계에서의 변화에 대해 5가지 논의 점을 논의해 보았다. 이러한 논의의 지점들은 천천히 우리 인식의 변화를 이끌어 가게 될 것이다. AI 의 등장으로 인해 이미지 세계는 새로운 변화의 앞에 있다. 이에 관한 다양한 관심과 논의는 지속해서 이루어질 것이다. 본 연구는 이러한 변화하는 이미지 시장에대한 일정한 기초적 논의로 그 의미가 있다 하겠다.

영문 초록

The advancement of AI technology in South Korea gained significant attention following the defeat of Lee Sedol, a Go grandmaster, by AlphaGo. The emergence of Chat-GPT in 2022 marked a significant development in natural language processing, enabling AI to understand and respond in human language. This capability signifies the advent of multimodal AI technologies. Additionally, the introduction of image-generating AI, which creates images from text-based prompts, has been impactful in traditionally creative fields such as photography, graphic design, webtoons, and other image-based arts. Alongside the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the fusion and development of digitalization, automation, and internet technologies are foundational to advancements in AI, robotics, IoT, blockchain, virtual reality, and 3D printing, with AI being a particularly rapidly growing and highly focused area. While initial disruptions are anticipated, image-generating AI is expected to coexist with and eventually become integrated into photography, art, and design. Certain aspects of the image field are anticipated to be replaced by AI, and a new fusion of traditional imagery with AI-generated content is expected to evolve. This will lead to the creation of new forms of photography, art, and design, driving transformative changes. However, the speed of these changes makes predicting the future challenging. Efficiency and integration will be key themes in this evolving market. This study has explored five discussion points regarding the impact of image-generating AI on the world of realistic images, indicating a gradual shift in our perception. The advent of AI heralds a new era of change in the image world,warranting ongoing interest and discussion. This study provides a foundational discussion on the evolving image market and its significance.
